Lost and Found

Chapter 4

You know what we haven't done in a while...gone to the guild. Natsu thought opening his eyes while he laid in his hammock.

It had been just about two years since he'd gone to the guild.

Two years since he'd seen Gray, Erza, Gajeel, everybody. Two years since he'd seen Happy. Two years since he'd visited Lucy.

Lets go visit I mean what harm will it do? It's been two years people will be happy to see you! Natsu stared at the house around him. A mess, as usual.

Natsu had been doing nothing for the last two years. He never spoke a single word. He woke up each day just to eat and take care of his hygiene. But that was it. Nothing for two years.

Natsu forced himself up feeling a bit light-headed. He shuffled to the restroom to do his morning routine. Once finished, he glanced over at his daily clothing. They'll be happy to see you. He thought once more before changing into his daily wear.

Natsu stared up at the giant castle-like guild that he used to call home. Fear began to settle in his heart as he turned around to go back home until...

"Natsu?"

It was Erza.

Crap, what do I do? Don't turn around! Natsu yelled in his head. He was frozen in his spot. His heart was beating so fast.

"Natsu is that really you? I haven't seen you in forever." She continued moving slowly towards Natsu. "Why did you leave?" Natsu felt a hand grab hold of his.

"Don't touch me!" Natsu yelled swiping his arm away from hers turning around quickly.

"I-I'm sorry. I'm still hurting and I don't want to talk about it." Natsu said noticing how mean he sounded.

Erza stared back at him looking hurt but understanding at the same time.

"I understand. Well, can you at least come in and say hi to everyone? I know everyone has missed you." She smiled holding her hand out to Natsu.

Natsu stared at her hand, but paced past her into the building.

As soon as he opened the door, everyone stopped. Everyone looked over to the door. Everyone was...speechless. They couldn't believe that...Natsu was back.

Natsu looked around and was already hating the attention. He dropped his head and stalked over to the bar. Mirajane passed him a water while he sat down in one of the chairs.

Everyone was still silent 'til someone familiar spoke up.

"So that's all you're gonna do?"

Natsu ignored Gray, trying to keep a low profile. Even though that was already ruined.

"Are you kidding me?" Gray was becoming agitated. "Two years and you walk in here like it's any other day! Not even a 'hey guys sorry I left with no explanation, I'm back!' That's bull crap!" He yelled slamming his fist on the bar causing the water to quiver.

"Hey guys! Sorry I left with no explanation, I'm back!" Natsu said sarcastically not in the mood for Gray's habits.

"That's it you're going to get it you Flame Brain!" Gray yelled punching Natsu square in the mouth.

Natsu fell backwards landing on his back causing the air to be knocked out of him. Natsu ignored Gray's moves though trying to keep his promise to Lucy. Gray jumped on top of Natsu and began punching him in the jaw multiple times going back and forth between arms.

Natsu's anger grew to the point of no return. He punched Gray in the stomach knocking the air out of him.

With that they were back to fighting just like old times. But immediately the doors flew open with a giant gust of wind. Everyone stopped once more, including Natsu and Gray. The wind blew softly throughout the whole guild.

"Even after three years, you guys still fight like children." A mysterious, yet familiar voice spoke filling the room with a loud and clear sound.

"Luce?" Natsu mumbled with blood dripping out of his mouth. A lean figure appeared in the doorway. Their face was covered by a cloak making it difficult to identify the person.

The person stalked into the room towards the mangled two. They knelt down and removed the cap revealing the person to be Lucy.

"Oh my..."

"Hi Natsu...I missed you." She smiled wiping the blood and tears away from his face.

"Lucy!" Natsu whispered hugging her around the waist. "Never ever do that again! I will never let you go ever again!" Natsu whispered just loud enough for her to hear. "I promise I won't." She replied stroking Natsu's head.

"You know, Natsu was a wreck when you disappeared." Gray muttered clutching at his stomach as he began to stand up. Natsu and Lucy still embraced with Lucy stroking Natsu's head as he wept. "Wouldn't eat, wouldn't talk, heck he didn't even come to the guild for two years."

Lucy looked down at Natsu. He finally found home and peace. Tears still fell from his eyes onto her clothes but she didn't care anymore. Just as long as she could hold him forever. She bent over and kissed his head pulling him even closer.

"So you're saying...this man took you and put you in a jail cell and tortured you for the next three years 'til you escaped and made it back here?" Erza asked sitting at a table absent-mindlessly forking food on a plate around.

"Yeah. It was horrible the things he did to me, but I held strong just thinking about you guys every single day. That's what kept me going." Lucy smiled still holding Natsu in her arms. From the looks of it he seemed to be dozing making up for all the lost sleep from the last three years.

"This guy's gonna get it!" Natsu growled pulling Lucy close.

"No, Natsu, it's fine he's probably long gone by now. I just want you guys to be okay with me being back." Lucy urged rubbing Natsu's back.

"But Luce! He hurt you..." Natsu mumbled looking up at Lucy.

"But I took care of it idiot." Lucy smiled cupping Natsu's face.

"Okay, if you say so." Natsu muttered blushing hard.

"So, um, Lucy you kinda lost your house, you know because we thought you died. But we kept all of your things. Natsu volunteered to keep it at his place, so yeah..." Erza explained surprised of whatever just happened between them.

"What? Why did you leave it with Natsu? He's a creep!" Lucy asked.

"Whatever! I'll take you to my place that way you can pick it up. Jeez, you couldn't have been more rude." Natsu mumbled. He already buried his face back into her stomach.

"Well then come on! Lets go!" Lucy urged determined.

"Noooooooooo..." Natsu yelled begging to stay longer, but Lucy was already getting up.

"Come on Natsu," she began picking up Natsu off the ground," let's go!" She yelled pulling Natsu through the front doors.

"Does anybody else find it weird that they both came back on the same day?" Gray asked to the guild watching them disappear.

"They're destined to be!" Mirajane smiled watching too.
