Avoiding Him

I smacked him with some much force I was surprised with myself. It hurt me to slap him that hard, but I ignored the regret I instantly felt wash over me. I turn before I can see the hurt on his face.

"Rozada, I'm going shopping for some new clothes and some hair dye." I exclaim trying to get as far away from Dean as I could.

And with that I walked away and told Rozada I was going to Hot Topic. I really am in need of some new clothes and hair dye. While I was looking around I was approached by a boy and he said,

"Hi, I'm Adam. I've never seen you here before, but you're really beautiful. Would you like to go out sometime?"

Right before I had a chance to answer I saw Dean looking for me and then his eyes caught mine. I told Adam to kiss me. He gladly complied.

The next thing I heard was Dean growl and then he pulled Adam off of me and started beating the crap out of him. I had to pull Dean off of Adam and get him to calm down. I had no idea on how to calm down this really pissed off wolf boy. So I grabbed his face and made him look me in the eye. It seemed natural to me. I once I looked in his eyes I saw that he was fighting to gain control and to not change right there. "Dean you need to gain control and focus on staying human" I told him. Dean closed his eyes and took a couple deep breathes and then he said "I need you to kiss me so I can reign in my wolf right now." I didn't think I just leaned into Dean and pushed my lips onto his.

Dean was trying to work his tongue into my mouth, but I was not having it. I clenched my teeth and held my lips together with all the strength I could muster. I could tell that Dean was getting upset because he couldn't open my mouth for him to take control. I knew the second I gave him control would be the end of me being able to control myself. He pulled away and I took the chance. I ran out of hot topic. I kept running until I knew that Dean wouldn't know where I went to. I ran into the women's restroom on the other side of the mall. I went into an open stall and just sat there with my fingers grazing my lips. Once I was able to think clearly I opened the stall door and walked out of the bathroom. I saw that there was an Aeropostle nearby.

Once I started walking to Aeropostle I had a feeling I was being watched. I looked around and didn't see anyone looking my way. That feeling of being watched would not go away. I didn't see Shayne or his look alike since earlier, but maybe that was the cause of my paranoia.

I got to Aeropostle and was excited when they had sales going on, their shirts and jeans. I walked into the store and walked out just as fast. The store smelled rotten, it had the smell of vampires. The only thoughts that were running through my head was 'How did they find me? Do I already need to leave Rozada? Or is it someone who lives in the area?' No matter what I didn't care because all vampires talk to one another and if it is a regular to the area, I'm fresh meat and they would be curious and eventually they would find out who I am and it would get around to Shayne. Well, if Shayne wasn't already here.

I walked out of there so fast I didn't notice I was going to collide with a guy until I did. He had some of the bluest eyes I have ever seen, second to Dean's, and I thought that he seemed like Rozada's type of guy. He had a faint woodsy smell to him, 'Must be a wolf.'

I told him "I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going."

"No it was my fault. I'm not used to seeing a girl who is as beautiful as you. Especially around these parts." He stated.

I blushed at that statement, even though people tell me all the time it still is hard to believe. When you look in the mirror and all you can see is the human part of you. My wolf is beautiful. I think I'm average.

While still blushing I said my thanks.

He sticks his hand out and states, "You are very welcome, I only speak the truth. And by the way I'm Jayden."

I grab his hand and return the shake, "I'm Leah."

"Well that is a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." With a wink thrown in my direction.

I feel my face blush a deeper shade of red and barely am able to mutter out the word "Thanks."

Jayden looks at me and asks for my number. The only thought that goes through my mind is 'Boy what a cutie, but he definitely is not as good looking as my Dean. Wait, what the hell? My Dean? WTF is going on here.'

"Sorry, but to be honest I don't see anything happening between us. I do however have a very single, very cute friend that you are her type of guy. Her name is Rozada and if you want to meet her I left her by Auntie Anne's pretzels and you can tell her I sent you."

He face dropped when I said that I didn't see anything happening between us, but it did pick up when I told him about Rozada. We said our goodbyes and he went on his way to what looked like the directions of Auntie Anne's pretzels.

As soon as he walked away all I could smell was Dean. I looked around for him. When my eyes landed on him I could tell that he was glaring at Jayden's back. But when I looked at him, his eyes met mine and they softened.

With his softened gaze he stated, "You know I could have hurt him if you gave him your number and had not sent him on his way. I would have to. I told you, you are mine. You are my mate and I don't do well with sharing. We are meant to be together."

I sighed, "Are you going to stalk me for the rest of my life? Because I believe in free will and will not be told what I am doing. Or who I am going to be with."

His eyes hardened slightly, "Yes I will. If that is what it takes for you to realize that we are meant to be."

Laughing, "Have fun with that Dean. You will end up alone and sad because we will never be together. My heart belongs to one man and he is dead, along with my ability to love. He was the one for me, because I chose him and he chose me. Free will remember? Big fan of it."

Dean did not like my answer, but didn't do anything to try and persuade me otherwise. He did have a look on his face, like he needed to ask me a question.

"Dean what is your question you want to ask me?"

He sighed and his eyes softened just a little bit, "Why did you call me wolf boy?"

I laughed so loud people in the store were looking at me like I was crazy. Even Dean was looking at me like that. "What is so funny Leah?"

While still laughing I stated, "You smell like a wolf and are acting so territorial like a wolf does. I am pretty sure I should know since I am a wolf myself."

A look of confusion crossed his face. "How the hell can I not smell you? You smell just like a normal human to me."

I started walking away, "You already asked your question wolf boy. Now it is time for me to leave and go find Rozada. Can't leave her waiting too long."
