The sound of beeping echoed around him along with voices. One voice stuck out among all of them.
"No! Please, don't let him die, he can't die! Michael!" His eyes shot open and he was blinded by a bright light. People stood over him, shouting instructions at eachother as he tried focusing on something. A nurse tried forcing the breathing mask on his face, but he turned away, seeing Luke being pulled away by Calum and Ashton. Michael's instincts kicked in. He tried to sit up, but hands swarmed him, pinning him down. He looked down and saw the blood covering his clothing and suddenly, he felt the ripping pain in his chest. He groaned out in pain, but continued fighting. He had to get to Luke.
"M-Michael! Baby, don't die. Please! You can't die!" They pinned him back against the table and forced the mask on him, injecting something into his arm. He started convulsing on the table wildly. Darkness started fading in and a loud constant beeping sound filled the air. Michael slipped out of consciousness, a long and echoed beep filing the silence.

Luke paced back and forth, ignoring his friends as they tried speaking to him. Michael's blood stained his shirt, and it was still wet.
"Michael? Where is he? Where's my son?" Karen asked, shouting in the waiting room.
"Karen," Luke called. She ran over to him with Daryl and gasped, seeing the blood on his shirt.
"What happened? W-where's my Mikey?" She sobbed. Calum stood up and hugged her.
"I'm sorry, he's in surgery right now."
"What did he do? W-why would he do this? H-he promised me he'd come for dinner..." Her husband took her in his arms as silent tears fell down his face. Luke froze when he saw Joanne, Zoe and Shawn walk inside. Joanne looked right at him and smiled, walking over. Something inside of him snapped.
"You bitch. You did this!" He shouted. "This is all of your fault!" Ashton grabbed him before he could lunge at her.
"I have no idea what you mean, how is this my fault?" Joanne asked.
"What you did was illegal. He told us everything. He left us everything we need to get you fired and probably even arrested you cold hearted bitch. I'd suggest you get a really good lawyer," Calum said. She just laughed bitterly.
"Please. None of you seemed to care in the moment. This is what was going to happen all along. He deserved this." Before he could stop himself, Calum punched her in the face as hard as he could. She started at him in shock as she grabbed her bloody nose, scoffing as she walked off.
"Oh my god, you're my hero," Luke whispered.
"Darling, sit down. I want you to tell me what happened," Karen said softly, sitting the blond boy down and putting her arms around him. He pulled Michael's suicide note out of his pocket and handed it to her, feeling fresh tears stream down his face.
"He shot himself in the chest," he whispered. "It's all my fault... I didn't tell him enough... I killed him." Karen opened the letter and read it.
'To my family and friends,
Most of you have probably received a strange message by now, now you know why no doubt, but I had to say goodbye. I know the past month has been incredibly weird, and most of you have probably grown to hate me. I can't blame any of you at this point, even I hate myself. However, you need to know the truth behind my actions. Joanne Summers came to me and told me that unless I cheated on my fiance, Luke Hemmings, she would fire him. I was afraid that if he was fired because of me, he'd lose everything that made him happy, his dream job, his dream life, and even many of our famous friends. I was just trying to protect him, but I only did more harm if anything. So I leave you all the contracts that screwed my life over for these past few months. I know Calum and Ashton will insist on suing (please let Shawn in on it, he didn't do anything wrong). So here they are. My final goodbyes.
Mum, dad, I'm sorry I couldn't be your perfect son. I hope that you can move on and live happily together. I love you both. You're the reason I made it so far. Thank you so much for being my endless line of support and my life support. Please don't let this ruin the lives you can have together.
Calum and Ashton, I just want you to know you're both the best friends I could have ever asked for. I just want to thank you both for dealing with me as a constant burden. Don't miss me too much. And I really hope you find what truly makes you both happy. It's standing right in front of you and you both know it. I love you guys, so stop being idiots, and take care of yourselves and Luke...
Shawn. Join the lawsuit. If you play your cards right they'll have no choice but to pay for your sister's treatments. I hope she makes it, and good luck. Sorry we couldn't get to know eachother out of better terms.
And finally, my love, Luke Robert Hemmings. Words can not even begin to describe how sorry I am. You don't understand how much I've come to hate myself because of the things I've done to you. I hope you can find it somewhere in your heart to forgive me, but I wouldn't blame you if you can't. It's agonizing to me everytime I think of the pain I caused. Luke Hemmings, the love of my life, the man I should be marrying. I'll never forget you. I know you'll be able to find another love easily. Always remember this...
You are forever my one and only love and I have never meant to hurt you.
Remember me, but please don't cry. I love you all.
Our Last Goodbye,
Michael Gordon Clifford Xx'
Karen let out a soft breath and started crying again. Luke looked over at her and sighed.
"I'm so sorry," he whispered.
"What are you talking about?" She asked, handing her husband the letter.
"It's all my fault. I-if I just let him know how much I loved him... if he knew that I would have chosen him over the band all of this could have been avoided."
"Honestly darling, we always knew he was depressed... you could have told him a million times a day, and still this day would have come. He's always been so insecure.. he could never see what was right infront of him..."
"What's that?"
"How many people love him. Especially you." He sighed and looked down at his blood covered shirt, shuddering. The doctor walked in and sighed.
"Michael's family, I presume?" He asked. Luke stood up quickly, along with Michael's parents.
"Where is he? Is he okay?" Luke begged.
"He's out of surgery and he's stable as for right now. Unfortunately he's in critical condition, he collapsed both lungs and the bullet grazed his heart. He's lucky to be alive. You must know, he's in a comatose state... he may never wake up." Karen gasped and fell into her husbands arms.
"Can we see him?" Daryl asked.
"Of course. Family only though."
"We are all his family. All of us," Karen said. The doctor nodded and looked between the group.
"Three at a time. I don't want to over crowd the room. Follow me." Karen grabbed Luke's hand and pulled him with her as the three followed the doctor, leaving Ashton, Calum, and Shawn. He led them to a dark room where Michael lay unconscious in a bed, hooked up to the many different machines to just keep his heart beating. A slow beep sounded through the air every few seconds. Luke felt tears fall down his cheeks as he made his way to the side of the bed, holding his love's hand. He brushed a strand of hair from his eyes and kissed his forehead.
"Wake up, please," he whispered. "Come home to me..."
