Chapter 20

Kaylee POV 

 "Mommy, how far along are you now? Your belly is big." Christiana asked while I struggled to get out of bed. "I'm about 6 months, Chrissy." I said in a strained voice. I was trying so hard to get out of bed.

These past few months have been quick, but great. We haven't seen nor heard from Zoe, which is good because I don't feel like beating ass while I'm pregnant. Chris told me that she had a baby by Red a couple years back, but I honestly didn't care. That's her and Red's problem. He doesn't really come around anymore neither.

My ribs and cheek finally got better, and the scar on my cheek is faint, but unless you're looking close, you can't see it. Also, today I'm supposed to finally find out what I'm having. I wanted to keep it a surprise at first, but I'm too anxious to just wait. We're also going to do a DNA test, since they've gotten a DNA sample from Trey.

Speaking of Trey, his court hearing was last month, and they gave him a year in prison and 4 years of probation. I didn't go to the hearing, but they also granted him a temporary restraining order for him to not come near me, Chris, or the twins within 2,000 feet, and if he violates the restraining order, he'll get another year of probation and an additional 1,000 feet. To say that I regret ever being with him would be a major understatement.

"Daddy! Mommy's trying to get up again!" Kristen yells as she stands in the doorway of the room. I playfully glared at her. Snitch.

Chris walked in the room with a smirk on his face. That clearly meant that I was caught. "You never listen, do you?" He shook his head. I rolled my eyes, still trying to roll out of bed. This made Chris laugh as he came and helped me off of the bed. 

"Just shut up and help me, jerk." I said as he helped me balance on my feet. 

"Okay, okay. Are you ready to go to the doctor now?"

"I've been ready. Let's just go." I pulled away from him before wobbling out the room with the twins right behind me.

"Lose the attitude, Kay." Chris chuckled from behind me. I just rolled my eyes, continuing to focus on carefully going downstairs.

"Are you nervous?" Chris asked me. We were waiting for the doctor to come back with the DNA results and then she'll do the ultrasound. Before we came here, we dropped the twins off at Alex's house. I didn't want them to be here for something like this.

"Very. What if Trey's the father?" I asked him. He grabbed my hand and held it.

"Then that's fine. You'll still love the baby, because it's yours too."

"What about you?"

He sighed. "To be honest, I'll still raise it like it's my own, but I still feel some type of way because I'm raising another man's child. I know I already have my own and everything, but it's still kind of weird for me to raise another person's baby. But like I said, if it's mine, I'll still love it because it's a part of me and you."

I nodded my head. I actually understand where he's coming from because what if he were to get some random girl pregnant, and she can't take care of it? It'll make feel some kind of way because it isn't my child.

A knock was heard at the door before the doctor walked in. She had a toothless smile on her face. "Hello. Would you guys like to do the DNA results first, or the ultrasound first?"

I looked at Chris. He only shrugged his shoulders, so that meant it was up to me. "I guess we'll do the ultrasound first."

The doctor nodded her head. "Okay, then I'm going to need you to lie back and lift up your shirt."

Once I did, she applied the gel on my stomach, causing me to shudder at the cold substance. She turned the computer on before placing the wand on my stomach and moving it around to find the heartbeat. Chris grabbed my hand, because he could tell I was nervous. 

Then we heard the heartbeat, and my eyes began to tear up as I chuckled in relief. "Is that the heartbeat?" I asked.

She nodded her head smiling. "Yes. It sounds very strong and healthy." She removed that wand before grabbing the other one. She handed me a napkin to wipe the used gel off, then she applied more. Now it was time to see the baby.

She put the wand on my stomach, and we all began to watch the screen carefully. It took a minute before we finally saw the baby. I gasped at how little it looked.

"Oh my god, Chris. Look at the baby." I squeezed his hand in excitement.

"I see it. Now can you stop squeezing my hand so hard?" He said, and I loosened my grip a bit.

"Sorry." I laughed. 

"Okay, do you guys want to know what you're having?" The doctor asked.

"Yes." We both answered.

"It looks like....a boy."

I groaned as Chris cheered. We made a bet, and I said it's a girl, and he said that it was a boy. The loser would have to pay the other $50. But I'm not paying shit. Hell, he got way more money than me, so he'll survive.

"I told you it was gonna be a boy! You owe me!" Chris said.

"No I don't." I argued.

"Don't be a sore loser. I want my money, Kay."

"You'll get it...after I get a second opinion next month. Ha!"

The doctor laughed before printing out the ultrasound pictures and handing them to us. Then she picked up the sacred yellow folder that held the DNA results, and she handed it to me.

"You two have a good day." She said before leaving, giving us some privacy.

I looked at Chris with a nervous look. "Chris, I'm nervous. Can you open it?"

He nodded before taking it out of my hands. "Just remember, if it isn't mine, I'll still be there for you and the baby."

He kissed my forehead before opening the envelope and pulling the paper out and reading it. His eyes widened a little, but they still remained low. I grew even more nervous by the second.

"What does it say?" I choked out.

He looked up at me, then placed his hand on my stomach where the baby was. I furrowed my eyebrows because now, he was scaring me. I cried once he said:

"We're having our first son, Kaylee."
