"I'm sorry," I apologized after finally calming down. "You don't need to apologize," he still spoke softly. We sat there in a comfortable silence. My head was rested on his shoulder as he sympathetically rubbed small circles into my wrist.

"You can call me anytime, you know?" he spoke suddenly, "when you're sad or you just want someone to talk to, I'll always be here." I nodded my head slightly. I was too tired to speak. My eyes slowly began to flutter shut.

That was the last thing I could remember before falling into a deep sleep. And when I awoke, he was gone. All he left was a sticky note which said:

"i left town. i should've told you sooner
but i couldn't bring myself to do it.
i'm sorry."

And just like that, he was gone. I might never see him again. He was just like everyone else who came to this stupid town. I knew it was a bad idea to grow so fond of him, but, I couldn't help it.

Everyone leaves, as he did.

its over wowie. not an ideal ending but not every love story ends happily. i hope you enjoyed anyway!
