We had met in the convenience store a few blocks down from my apartment building. Right when I saw him, I was intrigued. He was the one who started the conversation. He walked up to me after buying himself a bag of chips and a soda. That's when it all started.

We started off talking for a little while inside the store, but later decided to move somewhere better. We sat down on the bench outside of the store and just talked. I was oddly comfortable talking to him after only talking for a few hours. He spoke with such compassion, making hand gestures to accompany every word he spoke. He was fascinating. His face didn't quite match his personality. He had these sad-looking eyes, but, he was so positive, it was nearly repulsive.

A short while later, he offered to walk me home. Any other time my conscience would have told me that I shouldn't be walking with a stranger but this time, I felt like it was okay. It didn't take long before we reached the door of the building I resided in. We quickly exchanged phone numbers and said goodnight.

I took the elevator and stepped into my apartment. After changing into something more comfortable, I sprawled across my bed tiredly. I couldn't seem to fall asleep though. My mind kept drifting to thoughts of him. I just barely met him but for some reason he was all I could think of.

It was around 4 in the morning. I still hadn't been capable of falling asleep despite how tired I was. I was starting to fall into one of my melancholy moods that occurred oh-so often. I needed someone to talk to. I wanted to talk to him, hear his sweet voice again. I had never felt like this about someone in a long time.
