Hey Angels! There's no excuse as to why I haven't updated "The Secrets of the Angels". The honest truth is that I'm just not feeling it anymore. I was so excited to start it that I sort of lost my way. Every time I try to write a new chapter it turns into a complete disaster.

Because of this I decided to take a break from it. But I didn't want to leave you guys hanging. I'm currently taking a creative writing class and our first assignment was to write a short story on a myth. I chose The Red String of Fate.

This is the first book into the "Fatefully Yours" series. It's a stand-alone book & you don't have to read "It Must be your Faith" to understand this. The only reason it's book one is because both stories have to deal with two people destined to be together no matter the time, place, or circumstances.

Alexandra Daddario as Piper Montgomery

I hope you enjoy reading Grayson & Piper's love story as much as I enjoyed writing it. 🌹
-----------------------------------------
Grayson Jones can pinpoint the exact moment he fell in love with Piper Montgomery.
Their parents have been best friends since they were in elementary, so it was only logical for their kids to be best friends as well. It was the day of Piper's tenth birthday and Grayson was determined to tell Piper that he has a crush on her. She was wearing a pretty blue sundress that brought out the grey of her eyes. Her long, shiny black hair was in a ponytail tied with a big blue bow to match.
Her birthday party was later that day and Grayson was excited to give Piper the perfect gift he found at the mall with his mom. The party started an hour ago and Piper kept glancing around her backyard, as if looking for someone. Grayson asked her who she was looking for and her reply made him frown. Piper was waiting for her new friend, Cole Dawson. Cole Dawson was considered the cutest boy in class according to Piper. She had giggled then told him that she was going to marry him one day. Grayson had decided right then and there that he didn't like Cole Dawson.
Grayson made a random hand motion and told her that maybe he will show up later. As much as he didn't like the guy Grayson knew Piper would be crushed if he didn't show. Piper then gasped in shock and grabbed arm, quickly gaining his attention. "What's wrong?" he asked looking at her worriedly. "He's here!" She squealed in delight. Grayson's mood soured when he saw Cole Dawson walk towards them. "Hey Piper." Cole said as he reached us. His eyes only on Piper. "Cole, hi." Piper replied as she dunked her head down embarrassed. His frown deepened.
"Happy birthday Piper. You look really pretty today." He said as he stuck his hand out, a gift in his hand. Piper beamed up at him and accepted his gift excitedly. "Thank you Cole. I love it." She replied, a blush staining her cheeks. "You can't love it. You haven't even seen it yet. What if it's ugly?" Grayson blurted out in a rude manner, interrupting their moment. Piper and Cole both turned to look at him, Piper glaring and Cole with a smirk on his face. The smirk on Cole's face annoyed Grayson.
"I'm sure I'll love whatever it is." Piper told Cole with a sweet smile on her face. "See you around, Piper. Grayson." They watched him walk across the yard towards his friends. "I hate that guy," Grayson muttered under his breath still glaring at him. Piper smacked him upside the head. "You didn't have to be so rude. It's my birthday and he was being nice to me," Grayson smiled sheepishly at her. "Sorry, Pipes. The guy annoys me." She rolled her eyes. "You're just jealous Grayson!" She called out as she walked away laughing lightly. His heart skipped a beat as he laughed and shook his head lightly. "Oh Piper. If only you knew."
Later that night Grayson was looking around for Piper, but he couldn't find her anywhere. He asked their classmates and they all pointed upstairs. Grayson jogged upstairs knowing something was wrong. Piper was so excited for this party. She never would have left early. He knocked lightly on her door. "Piper, you in there?" He called out softly. He pressed his ear to the door and heard sniffles before the soft click of the door unlocking.
Grayson was furious. Never in his life has he ever seen Piper as heartbroken as she was then. Not even when the puppy he got her for her sixth birthday ran away or when she broke her half of their friendship bracelet she made for them. She was sitting down on the floor with her knees to her chest. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were rimmed red. Not a beat later Grayson was sitting down beside her and hugging her against him. Piper clutched at his shirt and sobbed into his chest. Grayson's heart clenched with each sob Piper let out. It physically pained him to see her in so much pain. Piper was like a ray of sunshine. She was never sad. "What happened?" He demanded wanting to know what had caused Piper so much pain. "It's stupid." She muttered into his chest as her crying slowed and her sobs died down. "It's not stupid if it made you cry." Grayson answered. Piper held onto him tighter and he gladly returned the gesture. "I saw Cole kiss Britney Wilson on the cheek before he asked her to be his girlfriend."
His jaw clenched. Britney Wilson was as close to the devil as a person could get. For some strange reason she hated Piper. Always yanking on her hair, ruining her clothes, and trying to cause problems. He never knew why the blonde hated her so much, but Grayson believed it was all because of jealousy. Grayson stood up, pulling Piper up with him. He sat her down on her bed and reached towards the box of tissues on her nightstand. She smiled gratefully at him. "Thank you Grayson and I'm sorry you had to see that you know I hate it when people see me cry. I'm just tired of Britney. I wished I knew why she hates me so much." She frowned slightly as she continued to wipe her tears.
Grayson shrugged. "She's just jealous. You shouldn't worry about her. Besides you shouldn't care if people see you cry." Piper looked at him confused. "How come?" He smiled at her and brushed off a stray tear on her cheek. "Because I think you look really beautiful when you cry." he admitted. Piper froze and for a minute he thought he had said something wrong but then she smiled a smile so beautiful he was left stunned for a moment. She stood up and offered him her hand. "Come on Grayson. I still have presents to open!"
The next day he didn't hesitate to punch Cole Dawson in the face. While he sat in the office waiting for his mom to come pick him up Piper snuck in. Grayson sat up straighter, figuring she would be mad, but instead she laughed and quickly leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek before laying her head on his shoulder. "Thank you Grayson." His heart skipped another beat and he smiled.
It was at that moment that Grayson realized he had fallen in love with his best friend.
