Of course you are free to imagine the characters any way you want; but I find casting to be most effective with descriptions inevitable in the book.
I must warn that this book severely blurs the line between non-fictional locations and identities, and fictional events and titles. For example, Duke Devonshire is a real ass person, with a real ass title, living with his real ass step mother and half sister, but he never courted Emelia nor did ever allow a woman named Bella Wilton into his home. All my history aficionados, don't get your underwears too twisty; this novel is all in a bit of fun ;)
