Apparently, the underground bunker which was where the 'special care' section of the asylum was, is a good place to be in the case of an emergency. Such as a bomb being dropped. Screams filled the air as the heat of fire melted away the darkness. An emergency protocol was set off and every single cell in the bunker was opened, and the light of the hallway intruded Eddie's darkness with the silence being broken by terrified shrieks of inmates. Eddie slowly stood up watching nurses lead people out of danger through a tunnel to a new bunker. Eddie stepped out into the hallway, squinting his eyes in pain from the noise and light, and watched as everyone headed down the hallway. He ran the other direction-ignoring the shouts of a doctor warning him about the fire. He ran up the stairs, past the falling debris, and into the overground hospital. Fire was eating everything, and people screamed for help being burned alive as Eddie walked passed them. He ducked under a burning piece of ceiling and crossed into the main hallway, or what was left of it. This was obviously where the bomb had landed, with large chunks of metal, glass, and cement everywhere. The roof was gone and he could hear sirens outside as people pumped water at the building putting out the largest fires. He began to climb the fallout to get over the building but felt a hand on his shoulder. It was one of his least favorite doctors. "Listen to me Ed...you need medical attention. You're hands are injured and you can't run off on your own. You are under government protection and-" As the doctor talked Eddie looked down at his hands and saw they were burned and bleeding. His arms were bruised and his shirt was torn. How had he not noticed before? He shrugged away the thoughts and slowly picked up a sharp piece of glass. "Shut up about your government..." He growled. "Now...Edward, put that down...you dont want to be in anymore trouble than-" The doctor stopped mid sentence as the blood poured from his throat. He fell to the ground and Eddie dropped the glass panting. "I told you to shut up..." He climbed the rubble and creeped around the roof of the building, careful of any broken cement. He scaled down the end of the building and ran down the street past the parking lot full of cars that would never be used again, and ran into the woods.
