"L-...Lily?" He stared at her in shock and joy as she got out of her bed and crawled into his. "Of course it's me, silly! Who else would it be?" "I...I don't know." She ruffled his hair playfully "Did someone have a bad dream?" "M-maybe..." 'Yeah. That's all it was. Just a bad dream...' She yawned and curled up next to him. "Well you can tell me about it in the morning, if you still remember. Goodnight bro..." "G-good night...sis..." "Oh, hey.." "Yeah?" "Where's the star?" "What?" "Nevermind..."

He woke up to the smell of french toast and bacon, sunlight filled the room. He grinned and jumped out of bed not noticing Lily wasn't there and went downstairs to the kitchen. Julia Choles and Michael Choles looked up from the table and smiled. Michael chuckled and got up. "Good morning mr.sleepy bed head." Eddie gasped and looked at the microwave reflection trying to fix his hair. Lily walked into the room and sat down at the table. "Good morning!" The parents greeted Lily affectionately. Michael sat back down and everyone began eating. There was no chair for Eddie. "Hey, guys? Where's my food?" The three chatted about Lily's school work and how good she was doing as they ate and Eddie looked around confused. Suddenly Eddie was standing next to himself but he was himself again and watched the little him get sadder and sadder. "Okay, I'll be in my room..." No one noticed the little boy leave, and suddenly Lily turned to him with mock sympathy. That's how you always felt, wasn't it? Never noticed, always the lesser child. You knew I was better, that's why you let it happen." "Let what happen?" She laughed. "You let me burn, you heartless monster. But that's okay, it wasn't all your fault, it was ours." Michael stopped eating and looked at Eddie. "Why do you think no one looked you in the eye? Why everyone was so afraid of you?" Julia scowled and nodded. "It's because you're cold and dead inside...how could anyone love you? You couldn't even love your own family. You couldn't even love yourself." Lily got up, face to face with Eddie. "Now where is the star?!" Eddie backed away from the group, now all of them standing. "Wh-what star?! What are you talking about I-I don't know... why are you doing this?! 'Eddie...the dreamscape disconnected...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry...' "W-wha-?" 'They're in your mind! I couldn't stop them...you must get them out of your memories!' "B-but how?! I don't know what to do, Spectrum!" Lily grinned and hissed. "There's a link! He's communicating through the sequence!" 'I'm sorry, you have to do this on your own.' Suddenly, the mind link between Spectrum and Eddie was broken and he never felt more alone in his life. Michael growled. "The link is gone...the star could be anywhere now..." 'Stars don't move...they have to be talking about Spectrum but why do they want to know?! Who-what are they?' As the fake family argued Eddie backed out of the room and ran to the front door. Lily suddenly appeared in front of him. Her skin began to melt away and in the place of a little girl stood a large black creature with no real physical mass. It looked as if you could put your hand through it like it was air, but you could see its insides, discolored by the translucent black "skin". "You're not going anywhere..." It hissed. It turned its whisp like arm into the shape of a knife and pierced Eddie through the heart. Eddie fell to the ground, and watched himself die as he was thrown into a blinding light.

He woke up in a damp cave, on the side of the mountain. He was stuck to the cave wall with some kind of a ethereal force. 'I'm not like them...I swear I'm not like them...I'm not a...a demon... at least I'm not in the dream world anymore.' A group of demons walked into the cave and went passed Eddie not bothering to notice him. Eddie watched where they went and saw another group of demons in the far corner. 'Now they're all arguing...10 in all...I can't take them...' The light came into the cave for a brief moment and shown through the demons translucent skin. In the black skin Eddie noticed tiny little shiny specks. Like gem fragments, or- 'stars?' Eddies eyes widened and he came to a sudden jarring conclusion. 'This is it... I'm really not like them at all... this is what happens when a star dies...'
