He opened his glowing eyes, a bright gold reflecting off the walls. He looked around slowly and saw that he was laying in a cave. He groaned inwardly, he'd had enough of caves to last a lifetime. He lifting himself up with his elbows into a sitting position. The floor felt sticky and wet where he touched it, but he didn't think anything of it because he was in a cave. He felt vulnerable, almost naked, but warm... like he was sitting next to a fire... A nagging voice in his head told him to get up, find something, anything living, and kill it. He ignored the voice trying to remember where he was.

He suddenly remembered something and tried to speak. "S-spe..ct..ctrum..." He quickly shut his mouth confused, then finally looked downat himself. He gasped seeing his body covered in a semi translucent ooze. He cried out in shock and tried to wipe it off himself, but all it did was make his hands stickier. He felt the warmth again and noticed his body was glowing, then he heard a snort behind him. He slowly turned to look and saw spectrum, standing there in a defensive position, his horn glowing. It seemed like he was concentrating very hard on something. Slowly memories began creeping back into Eddies mind as his eyes dimmed, and the nagging voice became much quieter. "Why...why did..." He couldn't seem to arrange his thoughts into words and decided to stay quiet. The ooze began to drip off him and he sat still as he watched it stick to the cave floor. He touched his face, it felt normal again, but when he looked at his arms he noticed he was still a purple like color with star specks. 'At least im not translucent anymore...' "Heh...I look like you, bud.." The unicorn looked like it was frowning, and its horn grew brighter but after a few moments it seemed to give up, the glow of his horn fading away causing the cave to become almost pitch black. "Why were they looking for you?" The unicorn tossed its head, as if that was an answer. "Spectrum." He looked away then trotted to a wall away from the goop on the floor. Eddie decided it was best to get away from that stuff too, and limped over to a far wall dozing off.

He opened his eyes and the first thing he noticed was the icy cold. He sat up looking around and found himself in total darkness. When he turned to look behind him, he saw the dreamscape. He ran to the border of it, trying to see the colors, to feel the warmth. When he tried to step inside he felt a shock run through his body as he got knocked back. He saw a body inside the dreamscape; his body, with normal skin. He realized that he didn't feel anything towards the body, and a thought passed through his mind. 'A black hole is cold and dark. It feels nothing, it is nothing, it sucks in the light and spits out destruction. Is that all I am? Is that what I've always been..?' A wave of emotion surged through him, causing him to become angry. He screamed into the void. "Let me in! I should be in there! I'm not like them!" He sank to his knees and began to cry. "I didn't mean to... I just wanted to look at it... I didn't mean to... just let me in..." Spectrum appeared in front of him, laying casually but  his eyes showed he was very alert. "I cannot fully change you back... my power in this form is not strong enough. The person you are in your dreams shall never again be who you truly are... I'm sorry I couldn't protect you." He slowly looked up at the unicorn, studying him face to face. "It's okay. You did your best. Anyway...I never liked who I was in my dreams...maybe it's better this way. But do I have to stay out here..?" "You are lucid right now. In a dream you would be inside the dreamscape. Your darkest fears are creeping in through your soul and I cannot allow that to be brought into the dreamscape. I'm sorry." They looked at eachother for a while, until they hung their heads. Eddie kept running the same thoughts through his head until he came to a conclusion. "...I don't like the dark."
