Hey guys! Not many have requested a closing chapter but I'm going to do one anyway! Please enjoy the final part of my story, Evacuated!
Both weeks spent at Camp Lark Creek were two of the worst weeks of my summer 2016.
The second week wasn't as bad as the first. Barb and I connected a little over the second week and I learned to adapt to being an outcast all over again.
Watching people cuddle became more bearable. Tom and I being the two outcasts, teamed up on a friendship power trip and they ended up giving us an indirect warning about where we kept our hands in front of the entire CLTD group. As embarrassing as it was, it kept not only Tom and myself apart but Jess and Barb which was worth it at the end of the week.
After Camp Lark Creek was supposedly officially over, friends I did stay in contact with after camp became better friends online than they were at camp and they begged me to come to the final week of camp with them. It wasn't a third CLTD week. It was a teens camp that required no commitment. I agreed to do it and Hawk-Eyed Judy actually let me go when I called her to ask. She sent in money to the Aarons to pay for it and all was well.
That week at camp was far better than any of the other ones. I met two new friends, Alyssa and Teeghan. The three of us were like glue all week. It was the best camp experience I ever had.
After that week was over, school started back up. 8th Grade. I was totally ready for it. I quickly discovered I had to work extra hard in Math 8 if I wanted to even get close to the standards I hit in Math 7. So I worked my butt off all year long on math and of course, my other classes as well.
We met another group of people who joined us for a while. It caused crazy problems I never expected to have with people outside our people. Tom and Kaylee, a girl from the BB18 fanbase, developed something for each other and they had an edgy on and off relationships almost the whole time they were in Lark Creek.
Jess was only getting worse at that point. He was becoming not only ignorant and neglecting, but rude and vicious. He was a bully. He was just like Manning, Hoager and Fulcher. It disgusted me. He was able to turn Kaylee's polar opposite best friend onto his side and they became an evil pair who nobody really enjoyed the company of.
It went by slowly and winter was approaching when Kaylee, Maddie and Keekee left Lark Creek.
Right before they left, Tom got Grace to text dump Kaylee for him. He was ultimately trying to avoid heartbreak himself. He really just came off as the dirtiest jerk out there.
Not long after their departure, JJ and the BAU team arrived back in town on another case. Of course there were gunshots in the forest and bodies discovered out there. It's Lark Creek. The crazy just keeps on giving around here.
During this time even with Maddie gone, Jess still continued to become more and more ruthless. It was getting worse by the day.
When disagreements came up between us and the BAU team, Jess went silent for days and his insults never reached us. Sometimes fighting was the best way to avoid tears.
I was blown away excited to see Spencer again. I remembered how he was the reason April didn't end in April. Without him, I don't think Jess and I would have ever made up after what happened those few days in April of 2016.
Spencer wasn't who I remembered. His priorities were slightly different. Different meaning not including me or anything to do with the problem between Jess and I that kept on going.
I brushed it off and realized people change and so do priorities. Jess did way more than Spencer so I decided it wasn't a mountain worth climbing. And life went on.
