A/N: This story is currently up to date. The plot has been updated to this very day, so as you can guess, this chapter will not be a continuation of where the story is at now. No new information, encounters or anything of the sort has not occurred since the night of being beat and all, so there's nothing to update on. The plot is (maybe, maybe not) to be continued. This chapter is the story from the beginning (April 14th, 2016) from the perspective of May Belle. This chapter is written by myself (Leslie) but told by May Belle. I just reworded it because she's a child. So please enjoy this Evacuated exclusive, "As She Percieved."

Friday, April 15th 2016
The morning of April 15th 2016 was our big test. My teacher, Miss Wilson told us that it is a very important test, probably the biggest of the year. She said it's like a midterm, which is what they call it in division two at Lark Creek School, which is grades 5-8, and as you can guess division one is grades 1-4. Spanish is a mandatory class in first grade, then you don't take it again at all until fifth grade, when it becomes an option.

"We're gonna ace our midterm tomorrow, Alexandra!" I told my best friend in the whole wide world, Alexandra Wate. "I hope so. We're gonna work on the worksheet together tonight right, May Belle?" she asked me on the bus ride home. "Yeah--wait, no. Nevermind I can't!" I cried. "My dad has his baseball practice tonight and nobody else is staying home so I have to come!" I sighed. "I'm sorry, Alexandra. We can work together at recess before the test."

I didn't even realize we came to our stop until I saw Jess and Leslie both walk past me down the isle. "Oh, I gotta go! See ya tomorrow!" I called at her before chasing them off the bus, neither of them seemed to notice or care whether I missed our stop or not.

"Hey, wait for me!" I whaled at them. I flung myself at Jess who jumped a little when I pranced at him. "Geez, get off me would ya?" Jess pushed me aside. "So anyway, wanna come with us tonight?" Jess continued his conversation he was having with Leslie before I got there. "Yeah, sounds like fun!" Leslie cheered. "See ya!" she turned to walk to her house. "Yeah, see ya!" Jess returned.

"Why do you guys always leave with that?" I asked. Jess' happy up-beat tone he showed Leslie in their goodbyes switched to annoyance when I started talking. "Leave like what?" he answered. "She always says 'see ya!' and you always say 'yeah, see ya'" I reminded. "I dunno, we don't plan it" Jess said as we walked through the door. I walked over to the corner by the TV where I had left my barbies the night before. I always liked to play with them around there, I wasn't isolated and alone in my room, and I got to surround myself with my family, who I love so very much!

"Jess? Can you go collect the cookie dough money from Ilene? We might need it" my mom demanded. Jess had a cookie dough thing for school, and he sold cookie dough to everyone we know. And because they needed the money up front, Mom had to pay for everyone's and collect the money from them later on. "Yeah sure, wanna come?" Jess asked me, he suddenly seemed a little down, as usual of course, but more than usual. "Yeah!" I cheered. "Hurry though, we're leaving for baseball in a few minutes. Leslie better get here because we're not waiting for her." Mom was her usual self as well.

I didn't wear shoes to walk to Ilene's house. I skipped ahead of Jess and talked and talked about my day and whatever else. Jess didn't talk very much until we knocked on the door. "Oh look it's you two!" Ilene cheered in her sweet old lady voice. "We'll get the cookie dough to you when it comes" Jess told her. "Thank you, dear. You kids have a good day!"

The walk back was remotely similar, until I decided to be up front about things. "What's a matter?" I asked as I skipped down the hall. "Nothing" Jess almost sounded mad, but more sad. "You're always like this" I said as we entered the door to our house. Leslie was already there with that usual wide grin on her pale white face. "We're back!" I cheered. I hugged Leslie quickly before darting into my room to grab my barbies so I could play with them while Dad played baseball. "Alright, you'll need sweaters" Mom told. "Oh, I didn't bring one" Leslie said. "Here" Jess grabbed her wrist and took her into our bedroom. I followed them and peeked in on what they were doing. Leslie was wearing grey sweatpants and a t-shirt. Jess had two sweaters he got at summer camp, one navy blue and one grey. He gave Leslie the grey one and put on the blue one himself. "That's way too much grey, here, let's switch" Jess said, both taking the sweaters off and switching. Leslie was now wearing Jess' blue one and Jess wore the grey one, which looked fine with his blue jeans, better than it looked on Leslie considering the grey was the exact same as her pants.
