One - welcome to UVA.

I push my huge suitcase through the elegant lobby. I wish I had my parents right now helping me out with this, but apparently, they're too busy asking about ''how does my daughter get in the Alpha Chi Omega if her mother was in that sorority when she studied here''.

Basically, they have to let me in. Is some kind of fucked up shit about sisters for life, or something like that. While my mother tells me everyday how excited she is about this, I see I'm not that interested or excited. Of course she's excited. Her dream, since I was like 2 years old, was seeing me studying at the UVA and getting into her loved sorority.

She has been telling me the past few weeks how hard is to get in, and that is one of the best sororities of the Campus, and probably of the country (according to her)

But until the ''open day'' and the end of the recruitment, I'll be staying at a dorm with some random girl. And here I am, trying to move this huge suitcase.

''May I help you?'' Someone says behind me with a soft voice. I turn to find a brunette boy with dark eyes staring at me with a smile. He's about to laugh.

''Why would you think I need help?'' I try to hide the struggle and he laughs.

''I'm Liam.'' He reaches out his hand. I reach out mine.

''Ciara.'' I smile politely and he looks down at my suitcase.

''You sure you're fine with that?'' He points and I nod.

''Absolutely fine, but thank you for asking!'' I shrug and he smiles.

''My pleasure. Nice to meet you!'' He starts walking off ''See you around.'' He waves and I wave back. I look as he leaves the lobby. Some girls stare at him, and he smiles at them, which makes me think he's known here. When I come back to reality, I find myself standing in the middle of this huge hall, holding this suitcase. I have to get to my dorm as soon as possible because this is starting to be a bad day, and people wouldn't like to see the grumpy me. I really want to arrive to my dorm, but I'm so lost right now.

After 20 minutes walking around this building I find my door. Perfect. I enter and I find a blonde girl, with huge glasses, sat in a chair, reading a book, or something. She looks up and stares at me. She slightly smiles and I wave.

''Hmmm, hi.'' I say unsure.

''Hi, I'm Ellie. Welcome to the UVA.'' She stands up. Her blonde hair is tied into a ponytail, and she's wearing floral dress. Her blue eyes, are hidden under her huge glasses.

''Ciara.'' I smile and she nods, sitting back on her chair. She doesn't look at me anymore, so I just blink and look at her. She can feel my eyes staring at her, and awkwardly turns to look at me.

''Want something?'' She asks with a smile.

''Nope.'' I shake my head and she nods looking at her book again. What a friendly roommate.

I sit in my white bed and look at the room. Is small, but it's nice. It has two white beds, of course, one at each side. Two night stands with two metal lamps. There's a wardrobe for both of us, but it's divided, so we have our own space on it. We have two desks too. One beside the other. And that's all.

Suddenly someone knocks the door. My parents appear through the door and they smile at me.

''They told us you'll get in that sorority, because you have too, since I was there before. It's like a rule, you'll see it when you get there.'' My mother excitement makes me sick, but I give her a small smile.

''Hurray!'' I chant and she claps her hands. My father laughs behind her because he knows I couldn't care less about the sorority thing. I'm doing all of this, to please her, and gladly, it's working.

''We have to go, sweetie. We still have to drive five hours to get back home,'' My father snaps and my mother nods, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek. My father hugs me awkwardly and then pushes me away quickly. He's not a friend of showing affection to anyone, so I don't take it as something personal. ''Call us as soon as possible, okay?'' He says with a sad look and I nod. They're afraid of leaving me in this huge place. We used to live in a small town, without danger, or parties, and my father knows how does the university thing works. But he's okay with it, because he trusts me, and he knows me enough to know I don't like getting drunk. Even though, he doesn't probably know the reason. My mother is always telling me I have to live this experience, and go to parties, and her acctitude confuses me. I thought mothers used to tell her daughters not to get wasted, or pregnant. But my mother wants me to go to parties and it's really weird. I watch as they leave my dorm, leaving me there alone. Well, with Ellie.

I guess this is the start of my new brand life.

I start to unpack my things and this girl, called Ellie, turns to look at me.

''Are you joining a sorority?'' She asks confused.

''Yeah, why?'' I reply.

''Well, you don't look like a sorority girl...'' I laugh.

''I'm not. I'm just joining one to please my mother.'' I shrugh and she keeps talking.

''But sororities and fraternities are all about parties, alcohol, sex and weird stuff.'' She looks uncomfortable.

''Yeah, but I'm not that type of girl, so I won't be doing any of that.'' I smile and she nods ''Is it your first year at UVA?'' I ask and she shakes her head.

''My second, actually.''

''Oh. And why don't you come with me tomorrow to the open day at the houses?'' I ask and she shakes her head again.

''I'm not going there. Sorry.'' She looks at her books again and I nod giving up. I take my pajamas out, and put it on because I'm tired and I really want to go to bed. The day has been exausting and  I can't wait to put the duvet over me, and sleep like a baby. I lie down on my bed, cover myself with the white duvet, and try to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.

...

I wake up at 7 am, because my roommate put an alarm clock at 7am a fucking friday, when we don't even have classes yet. I thought people used these days to sleep, but clearly she doesn't. I groan, rolling over my back and  I stare at her bed. She's already up, cleaning her glasses and her clothes are carefully folded on her bed. She's a control freak, I see.

I close my eyes, and open them again at 7:30am, when I hear the door close. I sigh and get up. I really want to get a shower right now, but I'm 99% sure, they're crowded, so I'll take one long shower when I come back from the sorority thing.

I open the wardrobe and start looking for something to wear today. According to my mother, I have to wear something elegant, so they'll have a good impression of me. My mother decided I should put a beige dress and a pair of ballerinas. It's a cute outfit, but it's not my style. I could put whatever I want, but since my mother almost begged me to wear this dress, I guess I'll wear it.

So here it is! The first chapter. I'm really excited about this, I really hope you like it as much as I like writing it.

And here's a joke to break the ice:
