Chapter Four

Leilani's POV

Me, Cho and Luna had exited the train  through the Ravenclaw door then continued up the path with the rest of the year.

I didn't enjoy the walk as the winter wind was gushing against my robes as the path grew deeper and darker. Me and Cho had been talking about spells and the latest news while Luna hummed merrily to herself, we reached the end of the path which was filled with sets of black, metal carriages.
We climbed up to the gate and opened it before climbing in, once again we started our conversation while Luna hummed. After about 19 minutes I had my first sight of the castle, I gasped, it was magnificent. Numbers of different shaped towers were placed around the castle,each one lit up by the fire inside.

At the edge of the path stood the entrance of the castle, which was situated in a large open entrance accompanied by a dark oak door bigger than any door I had seen before.

The entrance was also home to a large stone courtyard with square passages along each side. A grand waterfall structure stood proudly in the middle of the courtyard as water trickled along the stone artwork. I was utterly in shock, it was beautiful.

"It's brilliant isn't it?" Cho said
"It's Amazing!!" I replied back half shouting, we erupted in laughter at my response and exited the carriage.
We reached the courtyard still laughing when I spotted the same flash of platinum hair at the side of the courtyard with the other two boys.
I was staring at them, which isn't something I would usually do considering I'm quite shy, after a fee seconds I instantly regretted it when a pair of icy grey eyes locked with mine. He blinked a few times before I realised what was happening and moved my gaze elsewhere with my cheeks flushing pink.
I'd hoped that would be the end of it but due to my luck the three boys strode over to me but before they could say anything I was ushered behind Cho and Luna.

"If you don't mind, I want to speak to the mudblood." Malfoy spoke from over Cho.

"Not a chance, now fuck off Malfoy!" Cho snarled back.

"I want to know why this bitch was staring at me, goodness knows why she looks like a slut anyway." Draco snarled back, I was in shock surely he didn't mean me? But before anybody could say anything Cho had slapped him across the face leaving a crimson mark.

Clutching his face, Malfoy strode off shooting us his signature glare every once in a while. By now the tears had formed yet again in my eyes but we're not falling onto the cold stone below me, Cho  then rushed up to me and hugged me with all her strength.

"You are not a slut. Or a bitch for that matter. Malfoy is just a stuck up prick who thinks he rules over everyone just because he is of pure blood. Do not, ever, listen to him." Cho muffled in the midst of the hug, I nodded slowly before we both continued our journey towards the castle gates it had grown quite dark by now so we practically ran towards the door.

When we reached the door a woman in her mid 70s stopped me and asked me my name;
"Leilani Leachman, miss"
"That's right, come with me so you can prepare for the sorting." She gave me a kind smile before I followed after her, waving at Cho and Luna.

She led me to a room that was full of first-years, obviously they must be getting sorted so most were rushing around tidying themselves up.

"Hello, I'm Professor Mcgonagall and I teach Transfiguration here at Hogwarts. Since you are new I must place you in the room to be sorted but you won't be alone as there is another student joining the year above you. I must leave you now as I have to join the feast, good luck." Professor Mcgonagall explained before striding off, I was going to try find the other new student.

I made my way through the mass of children before I reached a corner in the back of the room where a boy sat on a wooden stool, fiddling with his wand.
