Chapter 5

The boy had chestnut brown hair that complemented his baby blue eyes. He had  a chiseled face with a perfectly shaped nose and you could see his shaped body through his clothing.

He spotted me staring and looked up at me, he smiled showing his perfect white teeth. I smiled back before placing my bags down then sitting on the stool next to him.

"Hi, I'm Danny" He spoke breaking the silence.

"I'm Leilani" I smiled
"Are you new aswell?" Danny asked
"Yeah, I'm joining 5th year" I answered
"Oh cool, me too"
I guess the professor must have been mistaken,nevertheless I was happy to have someone in the same situation.

"Do you know which house you could be in?" Danny asked me
"Ravenclaw maybe, my dad was in Ravenclaw and I know some people there."
"Gryffindor maybe? My grandfather was in Gryffindor." A look of sadness washed over him as he spoke about his grandfather, so I put my hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

"Sorry, it's just I miss him. He raised me because my parents were taken to the dark side so they abandoned me.." My heart broke as he spoke, that must be horrible to go through.

"I understand your pain, my father died too" I gave him a reassuring smile which he returned. Suddenly the main door opened and the Professor ordered us to the Great Hall.
Here goes nothing...

I walked behind the first years and next to Danny down the hall, the Great Hall was beautiful. The roof had been charmed so that it reflected the weather outside,dozens of wax candles floated above people's heads and a large podium stood at the top of the room with a golden bird on its front.

As I walked past the Ravenclaw table I spotted Cho and Luna and smiled at them, in which they returned. We had stopped in our line just before Professor Mcgonagall rolled out a large scroll and started to read first years names off the parchment. The sorting seemed to go on forever before all the first years were sorted, now it was just me and Danny stood awkwardly at the front of the room with everyone staring at us.

" Daniel Drawlin" The professor called out and Danny stepped forward to place the hat on his head, the hay barely touched his head before it shouted;
"GRYFFINDOR"
Danny grinned at me before walking towards the Gryffindor table then taking a place, I was now alone and could feel myself getting more anxious by the moment.

"Leilani Leachman" Professor Mcgonagall announced before giving me and encouraging look.
Here goes nothing I guess..
I stumbled forward then sat on the stool before jamming the hat onto my head for dear life.
"Ahh, a very easy choice my dear. It is very evident the blood that flows through your body, your a smart and well minded but you are also loyal and kind hearted. My choice has been made, welcome back miss."
"RAVENCLAW"

I grinned happily then removed the hat and travelled towards the Ravenclaw table,looking for Cho and Luna. Eventually I found them and plonked down next to Luna amongst the cheers of my arrival. Although in this moment I should be happy, I was confused as to what the sorting hat had mentioned by 'welcome back'. I was certain I had never visited the castle before as I would have remembered it's beauty, I snapped out of my daze to see that Dumbledore's speech had ended and the table was now stacked with every type of food you could think of. I looked up towards the sorting hat only to be met with the eyes of the man himself, Albus Dumbledore, he beamed at me which I returned half-heartededly.

"You look like her you know." Luna spoke next to me,breaking the silence.

"I'm sorry but I look like who?"

"Rowena,Rowena Ravenclaw. You have the same eyes." She responded, I laughed a little. She had got to be joking, this was the last thing I needed for everyone to notice I looked like Ravenclaw's founder then start rumours.

"Must be a coincidence.." I muttered back, we had now finished the feast and awaited Professor Dumbledore to dismiss us to our dormitories.

After a few minutes he did so and we walked along the corridor towards the common room. The Ravenclaw common room was somewhat hidden from the outside world, just as Ravenclaw's like to be. But it was amazing nevertheless.

"You will always find me in the past. I can be created in the present, But the future can never taint me. What am I?" The portrait spoke softly.
Instantly I replied with, "History." The door swung open then me, Cho and Luna walked up to the Dormitories. We found our beds before having a quick talk about our first day, but not before long we found ourselves asleep  to the sound of the rain at the window.
