Almost Hopelessly Lost

"You idiot!" Trevor Damian shouted, tremendously loud.

Jamie Haligan looked around confused while Trevor blew off his steam. "You mean me?"

"Of course I mean you!" Trevor continued.

"Why, what did I do?"

"What did you do?! WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

Here's what Jamie did.

It had been years since anything exciting had happened in the small down of Lucson. Everything was the same routine every day. Get up, go to school, learn crap you don't care about, do whatever you want when you get home, maybe do some homework, go to sleep. For Jamie, this all sounded so dull and boring. For Trevor, it sounded just fine. Amelia Janice could see why Jamie was having a hard time accepting this. Lucky for Jamie, school had ended when they all turned 16 when Jamie just barely passed his last exam.

That's when Jamie had the idea. They should go out of the safe town walls, where there were creatures that lurked in the night that no one inside the town walls had ever seen, and go have an adventure exploring wherever they went. Jamie's parents had basically already kicked him out of the basement for almost burning down the house a few times and were overjoyed when he said he was leaving.

Amelia agreed immediately. The blonde haired girl, who usually dressed in ripped jeans and a short-sleeve shirt, had the thrill of adventure coursing through her veins. She had nowhere else to be. The only family she had left was her grandmother who was soon destined to pass away. Her grandmother's last wish was for Amelia to now worry about her. She loved her grandmother dearly. She was the one who kept Amelia stable after the passing of her mother and father in a fire of their old house. Amelia was there, she knew that for sure, but couldn't remember how the fire was started or where it was. She couldn't remember anything before the age of nine. Only fire. She only had a necklace to remember them by. She hadn't looked in it in years, not even remembering what it said or what was in it. Everyday she woke up, looked at the sparkling, diamond necklace and then let it loose around her neck, trying not to think about it.

Trevor, not wanting to have no more friends for the rest of his life, followed their lead, pretending to be excited about the experience.

They all had said quick goodbye's to their families as their parents knew that they were going to leave at some point soon as all people in the land of Raeliana left home at 16 to 18 to usually go find another home not too close but not to far from their parents.

And so they set out to have an epic adventure where literally anything happened.

Of course, something happened. They had taken one horse as this horse was fairly big. It was Jamie's own horse that he had dubbed the name Dusty. Trevor had a burning rage for this horse and the horse hated everyone. It had caused them a few minor problems in the past. Trevor had advised against taking Dusty, but Amelia insisted that since Jamie had the "great idea" of going on an adventure, that they should take his horse. However, Trevor could see the concern in her eyes. She was only doing it to make Jamie happy. That was her mistake because many things made Jamie happy. Why couldn't she just pick something else?

They took off at dawn, riding for hours on end. Finally they took a break after they were far, far away from any civilization. Jamie, with his brilliant mind, let go of the horses reins when they got off.

"Is that safe?" Trevor asked.

"Yeah. Dusty's really reliable." Jamie replied.

"As I've heard...." Trevor muttered sarcastically.

It was mere moments later that Dusty took off with most of their bags around his neck, going faster than anything Trevor had ever seen.

"Reliable!" Trevor had shouted as he glared at Jamie. "Now how are we going to get from place to place!?"
