When Leo and Amelia came back from the lab and headed to the track, Jamie was freaking out. At first all they could see were the hand-waving gestures all around him while his mouth moved like it always does (fast and never ending) but as they got closer they could hear the yelling, too. Trevor had his hands on Jamie's shoulders, trying to calm him down and giving different excuses for where they could be.
When Leo and Amelia walked up to them, Jamie immediately ran to Amelia and gave her a big hug then let go and began shouting frantically at her to tell him where in the world they've been.
Leo explained everything. Not very well, because apparently lying wasn't his forte, but he explained it. He said there was simply a hole of sorts somewhere in the track that caved in, leading to a tunnel Leo was building into another place. He quickly went down to see where Amelia was but it took some time to get to her. He apologized for worrying them and not telling them before he ran off and that he was just worried for Amelia's safety.
Jamie didn't believe a word that came out of his mouth. He looked to Amelia and she looked back at him, nodding with a stern expression. Amelia had never lied to them before but this stranger had been blinding her better judgement for a while now. They'd have to talk about it. But Jamie still wasn't going to trust this stranger.
Trevor, on the other hand, went along with the idea. He wasn't one to start fights. He wasn't one to question judgement. He usually agreed with the majority vote. Jamie didn't look like he completely agreed with their explanation but two people had agreed and he really trusted Amelia. So he wasn't going to question it.
"Well as long as Amelia's okay." Trevor said, sighing with relief.
"Yeah, I guess so." Jamie agreed, reluctant to let this go.
"Good." Leo finished. "Now, after that fiasco, I might as well just show you around. If you want, we can do something with less holes tomorrow."
Leo began showing them around the outside of the house. He had rows and rows of stables at the back of the house filled with horses and names painted in different colors on the wooden boards of the horses. Behind the horses were troughs of hay filled to the brim.
"I refill the troughs every day. I wouldn't mind some help now and then if you guys wouldn't mind. But that involves all the jobs I run around here." Leo explained heading into a back door next to the stables.
Inside were lines and lines of animals in pairs, from pigs, to cows, to goats, to chickens. Leo explained the many ways he had to take care of the animals. Milking them, feeding them, collecting their eggs and so on. He explained that his farming habits were one of the reasons he was kind of rich.
The coin/trade industry is how the world worked in terms of money. Copper, Silver, Platinum, Mercury, Gold was how the list of coins went. To have 10 coppers would be the equivalent of one silver. 20 silvers would be the equivalent of one Platinum. 50 Platinum would be the equivalent of one Mercury. 50 Mercury would be the equivalent of one gold. That's why the group was so surprised when they heard of this richness Leo had come across. Diamond coins...... now those were a sight. You'd be lucky if you ever saw one. Those lucky enough to get one were millionaires.
Other than coins was the trade industry. It was mostly just a pawns shop way of doing things. You'd whip out something you thought was valuable in exchange for something you wanted from someone else. It was hard to measure worth of certain items so many trades were rip-offs which was why most people stuck to the coins way.
Along showing them his other rooms, Leo began to explain all the cities and places he had gone to trade and buy things from.
That was about the time Jamie decided to ask: "Hey, Leo, have you ever seen a diamond coin?"
