I fell asleep yet again. I revived myself from my slumped position, stretching my arms over my shoulders. The only sound that could be heard was the hammering of Anthony’s shallow breathing. When I was awake I couldn’t take my eyes off the boy, analyzing every little bit of him. It’s been three days since battle and Anthony has yet to awaken. The war still raged on outside the church’s walls.
I could feel my mate dying. Slowly but surely, I was dying along with him. So much had happened in such little time, it was completely mind blowing. I just stared blankly at Anthony’s rising chest, being mesmerized by the movement. Suddenly I felt tingles and prickles flow throughout my body and soon I became completely paralyzed and barely breathing. This is it, Anthony was going to die. This is my fate. Please God, don’t do this. Please.
Salty tears flew from underneath my lashes. This couldn’t be. This wasn’t how it was supposed to end.
“Faith?”
