After Thymer had left I decided to take a nice cool shower to wash off the evidence of our night together. He wasn’t the best I ever had but he wasn’t the worst either. Like I said before I would miss him. He was good company. Maybe I’ll turn him into a little kitty. I like that idea a lot actually. I like it a lot. I smiled to myself contemplating the idea.

I stepped into the shower closing the curtain and turned on the shower. It felt like little needles puncturing me all over with the temperature of the water being freezing and all. I sighed while closing my eyes and tilted my head back into the rush of the water.

“Hello Gordon,” I said nonchalantly. No answer. “I know you’re there. There’s no need to hide. I can sense you. We are true mates after all.” I laughed bitterly. He threw the curtain back so I was under his hard gaze. I just smiled sweetly at him biting my lower lip while he kept glowering at me.

“Please don't remind me. What are you up to Brona? I’m not stupid and I know something is going on,” he seethed.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about Gordon.” He forcefully pushed me up against the wall. One of his hands bounded my wrists together above my head while his right forearm was pressed up against my neck. “Feisty all of a sudden now Gordon? I got to admit I like this side of you,” I chuckled.

“Don’t test my patience here Brona. I know you’re sticking your nose in Anthony’s and Faith’s situation and I know somehow you made their relationship turn out the way it is now. What did you do to my grandson Brona? The kids have nothing to do with me and you so why punish him?”

I just began laughing at him.  His eyes grew colder and the veins in his neck pulsed more vividly.

“They have everything to do with me and you Gordon and you know it.”

In the morning I snuck out through the bedroom window for a run. It was just what I needed right now. I just needed to get all theses gathered emotions out of my system. I began to run full force towards the forest and shifted midair.

Running and running I couldn’t stop for the life of me. Seconds turned into minutes and minutes to hours. It felt nice stretching my wolf form out. I’m glad I went for a run also, so I could test my reflexes and stamina on new and unfamiliar terrain. I literally leaped over several small hills and pounded my paws into the brush and dirt. Running nowhere in particular, I just ran for the hell of it, I ran for the hell of just living.

I smelt Anthony coming up behind me before I could even hear or see him. Suddenly he was right beside. At first I refused to look in his direction and I just growled at his presence. I pushed myself harder trying to outrun the beast beside me. He gave me a wolfish chuckle, more like rumble, at my competitive reaction. He started to run faster testing me.

Every time I would speed up he would slide up right beside me as if it was nothing. I finally gave in and snuck a peek at his face to see he was already staring at me playfully. By his mere presence of annoyance I hadn’t realized the terrain was changing into a rockier one.

When I turned my head back to the front my eyes grew real big. We were just feet away from a cliff and I didn' exactly want to be on the other side of it. I was running at full speed and found it hard to try and stop. I clenched my eyes shut and gritted my teeth tightly as my paws began to scramble since my footing was a lost cause at this point. I’m ready for whatever we were to plunge into below us I just really hope its nothing sharp and silently prayed that it was an ocean.

All of a sudden I collided into a warm furry wall, which stopped me from scrambling completely. I opened my eyes to see Anthony guarding me from the close cliff edge that only the slightest push could send him flying over. I couldn’t tell if we were high enough so that the impact would kill him since Anthony’s huge wolf form curled protectively around me.

This is it. I could kill him right now if I wanted to. Then all would be settled. As if reading my thoughts Anthony whined and began to nudge me telling me to move over so he wouldn’t be practically hanging over the edge.

I just sat there contemplating what I should do and still sorta shocked as to what just happened and it all came down to one sentence.

Anthony had saved me.

I didn’t like the notion the least bit, let me tell you, but the man didn’t necessarily have to do it.

Becoming impatient Anthony started growling sending vibrations throughout my body. I let out a deep breath and gently bit down on Anthony’s neck pulling him away from the edge. When I let go of him he turned to look at me seriously and nodded. I rolled my eyes and huffed at him looking away. That just made him more playful. He nipped at my ear and began to nuzzle my neck as a physical ‘thank you’, which I didn’t exactly appreciate.

The walk, rather then run, back home was silent. Anthony went to the front of the house and I went to the back. Shifted back into my human form I climbed through the bedroom window stark naked to have Anthony waiting for me, in a t-shirt and boxers, on the bed all nonchalant like. His presence surprised me and I ended up crashing onto the wooden floor. I scrambled to sit upright and tried to cover any showing areas. My hair is a mess all gathered together covering my face. I flipped it over my shoulder leaving one measly tendril still in my face and I tried to make it go away my blowing at it.

Leaving the stupid piece of hair alone I glance up to come across Anthony’s amused expression.

“Didn’t anyone ever tell you it was impolite to stare although by the looks of it you’re just having a good ol’ time over there,” I huffed. He just kept on smiling which made me madder and he knew it too, the jerk. “So are you just going to keep on staring or are you going to help me out here.” He tilted his head smirking at me.

“Help you in what kind of way?”

“Stop being a perv and get out.” He just laughed at me not caring that I was just curled up sitting on the floor completely naked. He did do something that surprised me though. Anthony got up from the bed and sauntered towards me. Not going to lie I was sort of afraid as to what he was about to do. Even though I was trying to cover up my fear I knew he notice it or at least got a quick whiff of it and I was thankful he didn’t say anything about it. He lifted his shirt over his head revealing his sex god worthy upper body to me once again. He tossed me the grey fabric.

“Here just wear this for now we need to speak and I don’t want any arguments from you, just do it,” he said in all seriousness before turning around. I raised the shirt over my head placing it on myself. Him being a typical werewolf he had a musky yet woodsy scent that overcame and practically flooded my sensitive senses.

I stood and walked over towards Anthony slowly. His naked back was on display for my selfish eyes. He had some nasty gash scars on his back, which surprised me. Why would he have such nasty scars? More importantly who or more like what caused them. Growling I reached out to trace them beneath my finger tips softly. He shuddered at my slightest touch. Anthony was tense at first slightly but soon relaxed again.

Raising myself on my tip toes I kissed his shoulder gently. I never really noticed how much taller Anthony was to me. He had a good foot and a half on me.

After placing my feet on the floor I laid my cheek on his strong back. Closing my eyes I took in a deep breath before circling my arms around his torso giving him a gentle squeeze.

“What happened?” I whispered softly. Scars were a soft spot for me. They’re humiliating and I knew them all too well. They each have their own story to tell and most are usually disturbinlgy unpleasant. ones too.
