Today, The Long Way Home, by MushiSquishi . <3

The story the long way home by MushiSqushi is a must read in my eyes. You may be thinking, another story about Lucy leaving Natsu and the guild because she is pregnant

... LAME.

But, to be real here, this is a story that is 98% original. The other 2% is from their kid being named Nashi, and Lucy and Natsu getting back together, but I'm getting off topic...

For the author to just drop you in the middle of the bathroom, as Lucy is taking the pregnancy test it gives you just the slightest feeling as if "wait is she really having a baby or not". The drop-dead suspense, always left me on the edge of my seat; wanting yet another chapter to gobble up, like Erza and her cheesecake.

*For the author*

All I like to say is your one of a kind and I can't wait for book two!!! :)

---------------------------------------------------

Let's get started! MushiSquishi 's The Long Way Home!

Character Personality Accuracy:

Very accurate! Everyone acts like themselves, with their fears and quirks. It's very common to change personalities in fan fic for wish fulfillment, however, The Long Way Home didn't do this, and the characters are so realistic, it seems more like cannon then fanfic! 10/10

Word Use:

Vibrant and descriptive! The word variety is absolutely outstanding! She did use the same word a few times close together, but other than that, very good! 9/10

Amount of Description:

In the middle, and I love this amount of description! It's not like Alexander Hamilton writing, but it's not like text either. It has enough for you to picture and let your imagination run wild. Perfect! 10/10

Balance of Plot and Character Building:

I personally think that this balance is very very important, and I feel like Ms. Squishi did this wonderfully. She included the character development WHILE doing the plot, and I feel like this is not something everyone can achieve. But when it's done right, it works wonders. 10/10

Plot and Cliche-ness:

This is only one that Ms. Squishi didn't pass with flying colors. The Lucy-gets-pregnant-and-hides-it-from-Natsu trope is very commonly used in FT fan-fic, BUT the reason she isn't getting worse score is because 1) She said that yes, it was slightly cliche, and 2) the ending of the book is very unique. It really surprised me, and overall is the opposite of cliche. 7/10!

Pacing:

Oh yes! I love how this story is paced! It's just fast enough to keep you hooked, but slow enough for you not to get confused and and rushed. Amazing job! 10/10

Grammar:

Outstanding! The grammar was beautiful and polished. 10/10

Spelling:

Multiple spelling errors, but not hard to read. You don't notice unless you're a the grammar police or looking for them! Good job Ms. Squishi! 8/10

Realistic Emotions:

Oh, how important this one is! Ms. Squshi did a good job with this overall, but sometimes she goes a little too fast to totally true to life. She really did a good job though! 9/10

Realistic Relationships:

One of the most important things in stories. Relationships between characters doesn't have to be romantic, it can be platonic and familial too. They can also despise each other, and sometimes these relationships can be very hard to grow. In The Long Way Home's case, they had realistic relationships all the way to the moon. It was completely like cannon, other than the (somewhat) platonic relationship between Lucy and Natsu because a romantic one, and was very well written I might add. 10/10

Total Score by Italics: 94% ! That's an A! (or an A- in college, but still amazing!) Congratulations MushiSquishi! Your book deserves a definite read! You are amazing Mushi!
