I open my eyes, I could feel the crust in my eyes, "It was just a bad dream," I tell myself as I get out of the...mattress? No, that's not right, my bed is not just a mattress with a blanket covering it, maybe I just passed out somewhere and a kind soul came to cater me. I look to my left and I see a mirror, maybe I should see how I look before I meet the person who took care of me and thank them. I walk up to the mirror and to my surprise, I see someone who isn't me. White hair, doll like eyes, no nose, a shirt with a red cross all over it, white baggy pants, and what I can only guess is white flip-flops. I jump back in fear, "Could this be another dream?" I go back to the mirror and place my hand on it, my skin pale as a ghost, not as the normal tan skin I had. I look around the room and see another mattress that was next to the one I was sleeping in, "Could someone be here too?" I whisper to myself, and then the door opens, and out steps out a older looking man. Short white hair with wrinkles on his forehead, one eye closed and the other doll-like, the same white shirt with a red cross over it, same white-baggy pants, but wearing closed toed shoes, and holding a walking cane. "Aha! Howdy there," he yells across the room, "names' David, guessing you're my new partner aye?" His voice was rather raspy, but still almost soothing. "Yea," I start to speak to him, "My names Is Eric, nice to meet you," he walks up to me and plants his foot and reaches his hand out for a handshake. I accept the handshake and he smiles, "This is my first time having a partner, so if you could please, listen to me at all times during our missions please." I give him a puzzled look, "Missions?" David laughs, "Sorry about that, you must be new. Don't worry, you'll get used to this." He walks out of the room and I run towards him, "Hey wait, why am I here?" I hear him grunt, "Didn't you choose 'Note?' I stop where I am, in the room I am, I see David standing under what seems to be a huge television with a control panel underneath. "Note?" He grunts again, "Yes boy, a Note, someone who cleans up suicides." Then, it all comes back to me, the long walking, and the man at the desk. "Wait," I say, "Am I...Am I dead?" David laughs, "Did you want to be? Nah, I'm messing son, you're between that, kinda like limbo, but not really. I dunno it's hard to explain, just try to bear with me." I look down at the floor and think, "Can I really be dead? No, the old man just explained it to me, I guess. Should I ask if there's a way back to be 'alive'?" I look up from the floor and look at David, he is staring back at me. I open my mouth, "Is there a way to be alive again?" David's face turns to gray, and he looks down. Then his face glows back to white and he smiles, "The last time someone tried that they became a God, but hey you never know." He laughs but It doesn't sound normal, he then turns to the huge TV, "This is what we call the 'Mission Center' Eric, it's where we get our missions and where we teleport to the exact location where the clean up is." I curl my hand into a fist, "You didn't really answer my question David." I hear him slam his hand, "Listen here Eric, don't be a baby bitch and pay attention, you chose to be a Note, so you're going to do what a Note fucking does, understand pal?" I run towards him but he yells something and a gun appears in his hand and he points it at me, "Fuck off," I hear him say and he pulls the trigger. The bullet hits my chest but no blood comes out, but yet I am falling to the ground. Everything turns dark.
