The girls and I turned over in fear when a sudden bang came through the window, and we saw my brother pressed up against the glass, pulling the most horrible hilarious face. Andre laughed at our reaction as he successfully danced. "Freak!" I said, rolling my eyes and swatting him aside. He bounces off to the cafe's entrance, smiling at Maria and pointing a proud finger.
I smiled knowingly at my best friend, "You are dreaming again." I teased, mocking her words from earlier today Maria gaped and threw a leftover chip from Liv's plate at me. "Hello, uglies," Andre announced, once again frightening Maria as he sat beside her, "hey, beautiful," he flashed a boyish smirk towards her. Maria smiles brightly again, stunned by his actions. I didn't know whether to gag at Andre's flirt or swoon at Maria's burst of happiness.
"Are you girls ready to go?" He asked, tapping his knuckles quickly on the table. I noticed his knuckles were bruised with somewhat dried blood on them, fresh cuts and, poorly cleaned blood visible around his sweater; my heart began to beat as I studied him for any other signs of hurt or damage. He was fine. I mean of course he was, for the way that he is and the way he holds himself together, my brother was far from being hurt by anyone.
I cleared my throat and crossed my arms over my chest for one of two reasons; now, I wasn't going to scold my brother for being in the middle of trouble in front of the girls he knew very well how I would feel if I ever caught on to his behaviour, he knew what I would exactly say.
I flicked my eyes to his knuckles and stared at him with disapproval, no one seemed to notice them yet. He had rolled his eyes at me and stretched out his arms behind his neck and right onto Maria's shoulders, "I'm getting impatient." he sighed, sinking into the back of the chair.
But I was going to tease him for Maria for their coy acts. I hummed and rolled my eyes, "I bet." I rested myself on my elbows leaning closer to my coffee, taking a sip from the straw, "so, are we leaving?" Andre had said it again, this time without thinking as he twisted a lock of Maria's hair between his fingers.
There seemed to be a hint of self-confidence creeping into him, and Maria seemed to be noticing. As shy as she is, Maria knew how to play these games, so she too played the player this was only the first rule of the law of attraction; to manipulate his emotion you need to give in to their confidence and allow yourself to be fooled by their charm; seeing they are winning you have them by their dick to pull them around. The secret to it all is to flirt subtly and innocently to start the relationship. As she picked up her coffee cup, Maria grinned and said, "well, I still would like to enjoy my coffee." I observed her doing this.
With a subdued "ahh," Andre observed her as she took tiny sips from her cup; her gaze never left him, and he was beginning to feel anxious. I couldn't tell if that was a request for another drink or a hint for Andre to say something else. Whatever the case, nobody at this table missed to see the sparks or the level of tension between them.
Gross.
I cleared my throat and, abruptly stood up, "Liv, can you please come with me to the restroom?"
Liv was too focused on munching on her food. Her way of being in reality and seeing what was happening in front of her was slow, "uhm, I'm kind of busy at the moment," she mumbled, lifting her burger in front of her.
I shot her a sharp look, then gestured to Maria and Andre, where they are still eyefucking each other. She let out a silent grunt in disgust, then took one last bite from her burger. "Yes, of course." Thank Goodness she picked up the hint.
