Napoleon Bonaparte was born in the late 1760s in Corsica. He was born into a family of noble ancestry. He was an officer in the French military, the man who led the French to victory then defeat against armies from all over Europe and he was the emperor of France.
Napoleon liked to follow in other’s footsteps. Like Alexander the Great he wanted to conquer all of Europe and place it under his own rule, the rule of the French. Like Charlemagne he crowned himself emperor of France.
But how did this tiny man do it all. How did he become the great man he was; how did he control armies, control them enough for their last words in battle to be ‘long live Napoleon’? How did he crown himself emperor of France when France had just rebelled against their previous leaders? Why was he loved by all?
Napoleon once said ‘If you want a thing done well, do it yourself ‘ . He did not believe in trusting others and always worked alone. He lied to many people and was extremely selfish, but he was smart enough to be admired by all who met him.
