we've been in Colorado for a week now, and it's finally Christmas Eve. I finally told Ellington about the baby ad he's extremely excited. now i just have to tell the rest of my family. i plan on doing so tomorrow, by giving my parents a picture of the ultrasound as part of their Christmas present.
Sophie and Sadie are really excited for the next couple days, they're especially excited to get their presents from Santa, they haven't stopped talking about it all week. i'm excited to see their cute little faces on Christmas morning.
the girls had not woken up yet, it's just Vanni, Courtney and I who are awake
"i'm sorry i've been a jerk recently" i say completely randomly
"you know you can tell us anything right" Vanni says
" i know" i say before bursting into tears
"Delly what's wrong" Vanni asks
both of the girls just hug me for a while
once i stop crying i get the picture of my ultrasound from my purse and hand it to them
" you're pregnant" Courtney asks sounding shocked
"Delly that's amazing" Vanni says hugging me
"please don't tell my family yet" i say
"we won't" they assure me
Sophie wakes up and sits on the floor next to Courtney
"morning Soph" i say
" morning delly" she says
"wanna get ready for today" i ask
"yeah what are we doing" she asks
"we're gonna do some baking today" i say
"yayy!" she says
"lets get dressed" i say
i help Sophie get dressed
just as i'm finishing up Vanni knocks on the door, when i open it Sadie walks in
"she just woke up and needed to go to the bathroom" Vanni says
"thanks for bringing her" i say
i braid Sophie's hair making sure to keep it out of her face
once she's done, she goes to find Vanni and Courtney
i do the same routine with Sadie, making sure to braid her hair so its not in her face

I walk downstairs to see that the girls are in the kitchen ready to start baking
after putting on pur cute aprons, Vanni and Courtney help me get the ingredients ready.
Sophie and Sadie get to help dump things in, since they're too young to measure things out
"What should we make first, Chocolate chip cookies or Sugar cookies" i ask them
"Chocolate Chip" they answer at the same time
i pull the recipe out
we measure out all the ingredients, and Sophie and Sadie pour them into the bowl
"alright girls stand back so i can turn the mixer on" i say
they do as they were told and i start mixing everything together
after a few minutes everything is mixed together
we place the cookies dough on the sheet in little spoonfuls
when there was just a little bit of cookie dough left, i give each of us a little bit, before sticking the cookies in the oven.
we do the same thing for the sugar cookies and the peanut butter cookies. once all the cookies are done, the girls go down for a nap. while they're napping we are gonna bake the Christmas cake, its not too hard since we're just using a premade mix from a box.
within an hour all the baking is done, and by now its mid afternoon. the boys just brought home the Christmas tree they cut down and now we're gonna start decorating it. we go upstairs and wake the girls up, bring them downstairs and hand them some shatterproof ornaments. they put them on the bottom while the rest of us decorate the top of the tree.
after the tree is done, my mom goes to make dinner, while the rest of us watch a Christmas movie
after we eat dinner we're going out to look at Christmas lights in our Pjs like we do every year. i'm really excited to get to do it with Sophie and Sadie this year
my mom made homeade lasagna for dinner, along with a salad and homeade garlic bread, it was amazing. i think it tasted even better being pregnant.
The girls and I finish eating and we go upstairs and put our pjs on both Sadie and Sophie have really cute frozen pjs

we put on our jackets and get in the van. Dad drives us around the Denver area and we look at all the beautiful lights and decorations put out. some people do a great job each year
we were on our way back to the cabin when up in the sky we saw a flashing red light
"DADDY THAT'S RUDOLPH WE GOTTA GET HOME" Sadie yells
"okay okay, we're going home" he says
within 5 minutes we're home and the girls run upstairs and get into their beds trying to fall asleep since they saw Rudolph in the sky
"that was the cutest thing ever in the van" Vanni says
"i know, i love their excitement" i say
we all help put presents under the tree and in the stockings before going to bed ourselves. but once again i can't sleep, i'm too nervous about the day ahead.
