Chapter 2: Parting Ways

The Royal Family of Solaria exited the room into the garden, Crystal, Hunter and Raven Following Thorn with his queen on his arm 

"Well, that was... Interesting" the King of Solaria said exhaling and wiping his forehead.

"It was a disaster" Raven sighed ..."Who was that man anyhow?" Raven asked sound of disappointment covering her voice

"Foldin" Hunter answered. "He was in the council even before father became king." The king of Solaria looked back at them and nodded.

"I understand why the Templars would supposedly hate magic and mages but he's not even a Templar. Where does his detestation come from?" Raven asked, crossing her arms and looking to the floor.

"Bitterness" Crystal responded

The king of Alexar shrugged a little before continuing... "Rumor has it a long time ago when the first guardian issued the Battle of Dorn, where the old magisters attempted to take over Solaria by starting a coup and planning to overthrow the king. He was the captain of the brigade that took the first blow.

One of the magisters Cahren I believe was the leader of the assault team and well, he took out Foldin's entire team. With no one left Foldin decided to go against Cahren the other assassins alone... head on, hence the scars on his face and the bad eye. Cahren used his assassins to distract Foldin long enough for him to go after the king. Cahren couldn't think Foldin to be that dense. He realized what was happening and fought with everything he had to be at the king's side. Luckily for him he was able to make it in time before Cahren was able to get close to his majesty.

From what we hear it was a battle to the death and well, I think we all knew how that ended. Foldin won becoming the King's advisor and earning a seat on the council. After the kings death Foldin I guess demanded more power and was rejected by the people of Solaria including the other councilmen claiming he was no longer looking out for the best of the kingdom.

However they did not think to cast him out on account of his "service to the king" Hunter said putting his arm around his sister's shoulder trying to reassure her.

"Rest assure, this meeting will happen whether Foldin likes it or not." The Solarian king stated.

"Hunter, darling how is Elysia and Oriana?" The queen questioned "I haven't seen them in months; I wonder how my grandbaby is doing?"

"My girls, they're fine. And she's not particularly a baby anymore. She's my little girl" Hunter said smiling as if he were thinking of them at that exact moment. "Elysia will be headed back to Khollar soon"

"Ah back to the ocean I see" The queen spoke.

"Speaking of Elysia I should be heading back to Alexar. I need to get there before Elysia leaves so I can take care of Oriana. The waters are too dangerous for her right now. I don't even like the idea of Elysia going there alone but what else can I do? She insists and we all know how stubborn our women can be." he said smirking at Crystal

"You call it stubbornness, we call it the right of free will and equality my dear brother" Crystal replied smugly

"Whatever you say my beloved sister" Hunter joked

"Are you sure you are able to keep a hand on everything? King Thorn asked. You are still the captain of the Solarian Army. I will have someone look after your post here if you need some time between caring for your family and ruling a kingdom" The king of solaria stated straining the last word.

"It's quite alright; I have faith in my men and I am able to handle everything. Let's not forget about our commander other there" He said looking Crystal's way. "Do not worry father." King Hunter spoke with conviction.
