Jimin's POV

I opened my eyes only to find a strong, burning sensation penetrating through my head. I wanted to scream but the pain wouldn't allow me to. I pressed my palm on my temple trying to ease myself but it only made things worse.

I managed to look around and found that I was alone in a large, spacious room with a few instruments. A small computer sat beside my bed and I realized that it was a hospital. Why was I in the hospital? Why did my head hurt so bad? What happened to me? Several questions paced through my mind. I decided not to work myself too much and just accept whatever was happening.

"Baby! You're awake, Thank God!" My mother gasped before running to me and hugging me tight. I tried to free myself from her grip because every part of my body hurt. "Mom! It hurts. Let me go." I managed to get out in a soft voice. "Ah! Sorry Jimin. I'm just so happy to see you. I am so glad that you're alright. I almost thought I lost you.."
"Mom" I replied
"Yes? Do you need something?"
"No, but what happened to me? Why does my head hurt?" My mother stared at me with a blank expression and that's when the doctors entered my room. I could see a group of three middle-aged, tall doctors making their way towards me.

One of them checked the computer beside me and thought something to himself. The other two approached me and bombarded me with a million questions. "When did you wake up?" "How are you feeling?"
"Does your head hurt?"
"How did you fall off the roof?"

I took a deep breath and raised an eyebrow at the last question. I started answering, "I woke up a few minutes ago and I think I am alright if you can even say so. Although my head and every other part of my body hurts, I think I'm stable"
One of the doctors quickly checked me and asked me to lie down for now. I had so many questions, why isn't anyone answering them?

I gave in and finally asked the doctors what was wrong with me. They were just as much astonished as I was. They said, "Y-you don't remember?"
"What am I supposed to remember?" "You jumped off a building!"
"What!? Why would I do that!?" That was when another doctor entered my room. He looked older than the ones who came before, apparently because of the fact that he had a beard and his eyes seemed calm. "Leave the boy alone." He said with a normal pitch and the three doctors made way for him. He came to me and said, "Hmm, so you really don't remember why you jumped?"
"No"
"What as the last memory you have?"
"I went t-to the theme park with my f-friends." Just as I said those words, my mother let out a gasp and I looked towards her. A horrified look on her face, "B-but that was a y-year ago".
I didn't know what to say. I opened my mouth to say something but closed it right after I realized I had nothing left to say.

The doctor was the one who broke the silence, "I see. It seems to me that you are having a posttraumatic effect. I assure you this is just a temporary retrograde amnesia and you will be able to recover your memories soon. Until then, don't work your mind too much." He gave me a faint smile and signalled my mom to go outside with him. I could see them talking from my bed as they left the door open just a crack. The doctor whispered something to my mother and she gave him a stern expression. I gave up on trying to know what they were saying and concentrated on remembering my lost memories.

"B-but that was a y-year ago". The words echoed in my mind leaving me paranoid. Did I lose a year worth of memories? What did he mean when he said I jumped off a roof? I couldn't recall anything at all. I tried thinking harder but it only made my head hurt. So I closed my eyes to distract myself from the pain but just then I heard a creak.

"Mom, it hurts" I almost cried.
"I know dear. The doctors will give you some pain relievers in a moment. Please rest for now." Her eyes were concerned and fixated on my eyes. "Okay, I'll wait."
"Oh! Jimin, your friends called. They will be here in a few hours."
"Do they know.....?"
"Apparently, they are the only ones who know everything." She looked at me with an expression I couldn't quite put a grasp on.

I heard another voice as I was about to ask her what she meant by "everything"
"Hello, good evening, I am here for the morphine." I nodded and she came towards me. She looked like a fairly young nurse. As she injected something in my IV tube my eyes started feeling heavier, drowsiness taking over me when I finally decided to give in and fall into a deep slumber.
