Strange

A week had passed and everyone in the school knew about that incident. Of course, I was the spotlight as I was the only witness. Since then I didn't have any issues making friends but the only person who didn't approach me was the one I was curious of.

The silence was getting unbearable. I waited for him to curse at me, shout at me, blame me. But all that came was serenity. So that day, I decided to approach him. It was the only way left to tackle with the problem, if there even was one.

-"J-Jungkook!" I was already nervous.
-"What?" He asked in the most unenthusiastic way possible, not even bothering to get his head up the table.
-"I-I need to talk to you"
-"Go ahead then."
-"Aren't you mad at me?" I almost whispered.
-"For what?"
-"Umm...You know....For your girlfriend, Soo Jung." I was stiff. He didn't say anything but slightly chuckled. I figured that it's best for me to get out of his sight. He hates me now. He despises the likes of me.

I spent the entire day cursing myself. I knew I shouldn't have talked to him! Words couldn't describe the guilt I was feeling. Jungkook never used violence and it looked like the calm before the storm. And yet I just had to disturb him! I walked out of the school sulking and muttering under my breath. "Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid....." And that's when a hand tapped my shoulder making me jump.

I looked back and sighed, it was just Jungkook. Time for him to beat the shit out of me. I shut my eyes as tight as possible and waited for the impact. But instead, I heard a soft laugh. Didn't know you were a sadist, Jungkook. I opened my eyes only to find a perfectly cool Jungkook smiling at me.
-"Hi" he waved his hands like a kid.
-"H-hi" I just had to stutter.
-"Where do you live? Can we walk home together?"
-"Sure" This boy is strange. I had to comply.

He started walking towards the gate. I stood there for a while thinking about what just happened. Then I followed him. His back was straight, he walked in a different way. I didn't know if I should be scared or just make a run for it, I resolved with walking behind him. "Jimin, aren't you coming?" He called at me. "Y-yeah".

We walked for about a few minutes when he started a conversation.
-"Where do you live?"
-"Oh! Just behind the park." I replied with a nervous chuckle.
-"Why are you scared of me?" I was being obvious.
-"N-no, why would you s-say so!?"
-"Because you are stuttering like a kid and staring daggers at me"

Few more minutes of silence. It was just the sound of our footsteps moving in sync.

-"You know, I knew Soo Jung was cheating on me. I knew she only kept me around for money. I even knew that she used to give that money to his other boyfriend."
-"Then why didn't you leave her?" He knew all along.
-"'Cause I loved her."
-"I'm sorry" I've never felt more remorseful. I actually took away someone's love from them.
-"Why are you sorry?"
-"I-I mean, I testified against her." The words felt worse leaving my mouth.
-"So? You did the right thing. In fact, I'm the one who's wrong. I encouraged her to keep on doing whatever she was doing. I wish I broke up with her in time. But I was selfish, I only thought of myself. Some people just don't belong to us and we should let them go in time."
-"Jungkook, you're a really nice person. I hope you find someone better, someone who deserves you." He chuckled and we didn't talk anymore. But I liked the stillness, it was warm. Something I hadn't felt in a long time. I was so lost in thought that I didn't perceive when I reached my house. "Jimin? We're here" Jungkook brought me back to reality.

I finished my homework and was lying on my bed. My mom bought me a new phone so I was checking it out.
I didn't have anyone's number yet and ended up thinking about Jungkook.
