Once, when she was 7, Annabeth locked eyes with a boy her age. He was sitting on a park bench his vibrant sea green eyes capturing her stormy grey eyes. She was about to talk to him, until Luke came and put his arm over her shoulder and told her they had to keep moving because there was a monster chasing them. As she was walking away a woman came up to the boy and asked him where his stepfather was, in which the boy replied,
"Smelly Gabe? I have no idea."
