"Maddie come on! Let's go!" yells Kennedy.

"Hold on! I'm coming!" I reply.

"MADISON THE WORLD DOESN'T WAIT FOR YOU NOW GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE OR I AM LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!" screams Kennedy with anger.

"Please Ken just wait a second, okay?" I scream back

"Oops I think my keys slipped, sorry Maddie!" Kennedy says as she backs out of the drive way.

"Fine be like that. I can find my way home myself!"

"Have fun!" Kennedy says as she drives off in her red convertible.

Great. How am I supposed to get home now? I look around... seems like everyone has already left. I check my phone to see if there are any Uber cabs available.

"No cabs? It's not like I'm in Timbuctoo!" I cry at the top of my lungs.

I look around to see if anyone heard me... oh wait of course not because NO ONE IS HERE. I look around one more time but there is not a car in sight... just a few creeps standing by a black van. That's not sketchy at all.

A guy with blonde hair and bright green eyes looks at me. I try to shrug off shivers, as I quickly flee the area. I come to a sign that says "Brane Street". This is a little bit startling since I have lived in this town my whole life, but never have I come across this road. I peer behind my shoulder- the same people are moving towards me.

I'm running down the unknown street when the green eyed guy calls my name, "Are you Madison Melberg?"

I stop in the middle of the road with shock... how does this guy know my name?

"I said, are you Madison Melberg?"

I want to say yes, but obviously as any sane person would know, you don't talk to strangers. So, I sprint down, and I'm about to turn onto the next block but then I read the sign; "Lite Lane". Once again, I am a little concerned for my own safety when I do not recognize this road. Oh well. First time for everything.

"Please Madison I just need to talk to you! It's important!" the green eyed boy yells from a distance.

Not in a million years bud. I take a big breathe in and sprint down Lite Lane. I've been running for a few minutes now and I slowly come to a relaxed walk. I slouch down and put my hands on my knees, while I pant like a dehydrated cat. I look up and I see that this road goes on for a good 5km. Jeez, how long can a road really go on for? The town of Blakley isn't that big. Whatever. You learn something new every day.

I check my watch for the time- 11:30 already? My lord I guess I have been running around like a headless chicken for over a half an hour. I'm passed curfew, and it's a school night!

I pick up the pace and run down Lite Lane, checking each intersection for a familiar street that will take me home. I see a sign that says "Belcher road". Perfect- just where I need to be. After a three left turns and two right ones, I finally make it back home.

It's 11:42 and my curfew was 10:30... oops. I stand at the door steps for a good 5 minutes, calming my nerves for what I am about to witness behind the door. I'm just about to knock when the door swings open.
