The structure before us is obsolete.
Its walls are stained and its windows are clogged with dirt, almost as if it is abandoned.
No signs of life are to be seen, granting us a clear passage.
"How are we going to get in?" Tracey looks at me nervously.
"Hey," I place one hand on her shoulder. "It's going to be fine. We can probably get in through the back, it shouldn't be locked."
Tracey releases a loud sigh. "Oh, alright. Come on then, what are we waiting for!" She starts to jog in place to release some of her adrenaline.
I look over to Mitch. He was silent the whole way through after what happened.
"Mitch," "Huh?" He snaps out of his daydream. "We need to go." He pauses to look at me for a while, before replying. "Right."
He trails behind Tracey and I as we make our way to the backdoor.
The moon is somewhere in the middle of the sky now, shining brightly, allowing a good amount of light for us to see.
Good. This is good. Everything's going according to plan.
"Are you guys ready?" I glance at my friends. Both of them nod back at me.
"Here goes." I place my hands on the splintered wooden door, and slide it open.
We plunge into darkness.
