"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN HERE!" Arthur's dad dashes in the basement and heads right for me.
"RUN!" Tracey sprints across the room but she's too slow. Arthur's dad changes course swiftly and slams her into the wall.
She collapses onto the floor, hurt but still conscious.
This man is crazy! What in the world has he been doing to Arthur?
He then heads for me, but I stay where I am. I've come this far to see Arthur, and I'm not leaving him now.
I brace myself for the impact, but it never comes.
I open my eyes and see Mitch standing over Arthur's dad with a crowbar.
"Did you just-" "Yeah, I think so." He tosses the crowbar onto the floor.
"We need to go, ASAP." I nod.
Arthur lies unconscious in my lap. He passed out because of all the blood loss.
He needs help.
With some effort, I manage to get him up against the wall.
"Mitch, help me with Arthur, I'll get Tracey." I pass Arthur over to Mitch and head towards Tracey. There's a cut in the side of her head.
"Tracey-" She looks up at me. "I'm fine. We should go, before he wakes up." She points to Arthur's father.
I support her weight with my shoulder as we shuffle out the basement.
We get out onto the street just as we hear a loud roar.
Our getaway driver is here.
