Brooklyn's POV:
Sneaking out of the house was easier than I thought. I figured getting by Theo would be some what of a challenge but he was passed out cold on the couch. You'd think a bodyguard would pay more attention but I guess he trusts me. Thats his mistake.
I'm still so angry and emotional I can't seem to keep my head straight. I know what I am doing is wrong and out of line, but I can't deal with my parents. At least not now.
I can see Grace's house as the taxi turns the corner. The gates to the mansion are huge with heavy metal bars and an intercom. Our house has a similar gate, just not as big.
The taxi pulls up the driveway and stops at the metal doors. I can hear the cabby shirt into park as he turns his head to look at me.
"That'll be 12 dollars kid" he says with a warm smile. I reach into my duffel bag and pull out the 20 dollars I stole from mom and dad's safe. They think I don't know the combination. How wrong they are. I stick out the 20 dollars and return the smile.
"Here ya go. Keep the change" I yell as I hop out. I can see the drivers smile widen as he holds the bill in his hand. It's crazy to think that 8 dollars can make someone so happy.
I push the call button on the intercom and wait for the buzzer. A minute passes before I finally hear Grace's voice come through the speaker.
"Brooklyn" she yells "Get in here!" I cringe at the tone of her voice. I never realized how much trouble this is for her. There is no way Aunt Margot knows about this, so she is definitely covering for me.
I run through the gate and up to the huge front door. Before I can even knock the door swings open and Grace stands their with her hands on her hips.
"Brooklyn, what is going on?" She questions in a whispering yell. I sigh and rub the back of my head. "It's a long story. I just need to be away from home right now. Okay?" Grace sighs in response to my statement.
"Okay....but don't say anything to my mom. She thinks you are just sleeping over for fun!" She exclaims with an almost  hurt look on her face.
"I promise!" I say sticking my pinky out for a pinky promise. She cracks a smile and returns the gesture before we enter the house.
We start walking to the stairs when we hear Margot's pissed off voice
"Grace Alexandra Leto! You lied to me?"
