Margot POV:

Brooklyn coming over this late seems weird to me, but i guess if Grace says its okay with Joel and Cara its okay with me. I am in the kitchen getting some water when I hear my cell phone ring. I put down the glass of water I was sipping on and walk over to the counter where my phone is. I can see Cara's name on the caller ID. Maybe she is calling to see if Brooklyn got here alright. I pick up the phone and hit the accept button.

"Hey Cara, what's up?" I say in a nonchalant tone.

"Margot" I hear Cara let out with a sob. My mind instantly turns to worry.

"Cara. What's wrong?" I can hear her trying to collect her breath from the other side of the phone.

"Margot..Brooklyn is missing! We can't find her"

"What?" I say in an incredulous tone. "Cara, Grace said she was coming to sleepover our house. She said that you knew Brooklyn was coming"

"What?!? No, I did not say Brooklyn could come over. She is suppose to be at home in bed..." I can hear Cara's voice trail off as if she was in thought.

"We got into a fight earlier and she is in trouble. I told her she needed to go home with Theo, go to bed and then we would discuss it in the morning." I am anger now. Grace lied to me. She knew Brooklyn was coming over here because she was in trouble and ran away.

"Cara, Brooklyn is coming here to sleepover, and I agreed to it because Grace lied and said you were okay with it" a slight sigh of relief echoes through the phone.

"We didn't give Brooklyn permission to go anywhere! God that girl is in so much trouble!" I can tell Cara is just as angry as I am. Why would Grace lie to me? She never lies to me!

"Listen Cara, why do you let Brooklyn stay here for the night? You are both clearly upset and it might be best to just spend the night apart." Cara sighs once again

"Okay, but we are coming to get her first thing in the morning"

"That's perfect. She'll be safe with me. Now if you excuse me I am going to go kill my daughter." I hear a small chuckle from the other end of the phone.

"We had to have teenage daughters right? Thank you Margot I will see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow Cara" I click the end button on my phone and set it down on the table. All of the anger I had earlier suddenly returns to my body.

"GRACE ALEXANDRA LETO, YOU LIED TO ME?!?" I hear shuffling in the hallway by the front stairs and I move to find the cause. Grace and Brooklyn are standing at the bottom of the steps. Brooklyn has a duffel bag over her shoulder and they both look as though they have seen a ghost.

"Mom..." Grace starts, but I cut her off.

"Save it Grace." I say as I turn towards Brooklyn.

"You will be staying here tonight. Your parents will be coming to get you in the morning. You know where the guest room is, I want you to go straight up there and go to bed. Am I clear?" I say in a strict tone. Brooklyn visibly shifts on her feet and looks down.

"Yes, Aunt Margot"

"Good now go" I say pointing at the steps. Brooklyn takes no time in following my command and she bolts up the steps to the bedroom. I turn myself back towards Grace.

"As for you, we need to talk. My bedroom now!" I bellow in a harsh tone. Grace tenses but runs up the steps without hesitation. I follow behind her and meet her in my bedroom. She sits down on the king size bed and looks down at her feet. I can't help pacing in front of her. I can't find quite find the words to say to her.

"Grace Alexandra, why would you lie to me? You never lie to me!" I can see Grace playing with her hands, but she doesn't respond to me. I sigh and sit down next to her. Why can't having teenagers be easy?
