Chapter 1

I walk into the house only to see my sitting on the floor of the living room, anxiously looking at the door.

"Mom, you okay?" I ask, slightly confused.

"Yes, I just have been waiting for you to get home so I could give you your present." She replies.

I nod my head and smile. Today's my birthday but I'm not really into receiving presents or celebrating it at all, even though my mother continues to buy me something every year. Which is cool I guess, I just wish she didn't waste money on expensive things that I don't need.

"Honey, I know you don't really enjoy the whole celebrating your birthday tradition but, I promise your going to love this." She grins.

"Okay, okay."

I sit on the love seat and wait for my mom to walk back in. When she finally returns, she has a small blue box in her hand. She hands me the box and I assume its a necklace or another Pandora charm, but when I open the box a thin paper is revealed. A little confused, I look up at my mom.

"Turn it around, sweetie." she giggles

'Oh' I mouth, and turn the paper over. Right in front of me is one VIP Magcon ticket. My right hand automatically covers my mouth, as I gasp.

"Holy crap, mom! You really brought me a Magcon ticket?!" I stand up, the ticket still in my hand and run towards her, clasping my arms around her.

"Yes I did, Serena." she laughs.

"You're the best, mommy, I love you so much. This is the best birthday ever."

"I love you too, now you need to get packed because you leave in two days."

I nod my head and run up the stairs into my room. Plopping onto my white and black king sized bed, I grab my phone out of my jacket pocket and scroll through my contacts to find my best friend's name.

'Kori, guess what!' I quickly type.

Soon enough a message comes through my phone.

'What loser?'

'Mommy got me Magcon tickets'

'Seriously?!'

'Yes, I leave in two days." I smile as I press send.

Getting up and grabbing my purple suitcase out of my corner, neatly stuffing clothes into the suitcase. Afterwards I go through my bathroom making sure to have my toiletry bag and hair accessories/care items. I hear a notification come through my phone so I run to my bed and grab it.

'You suck, can I come?'

I laugh as I read it, imagining Kori say it in front of me.

'Nope,' I reply.
'I don't like you.'

'You suck. I'm going to sleep meany. I'll see you tomorrow'

'Goodnight.'

I wake up to Kori bouncing up and down on my back.

"Girl, if you don't get off of me I'm going to stab you in your throat with a spoon."

"Jesus, Rena why do you have to be so gory?"
