Chapter 1
'You walked in, caught my attention. I've never seen, a man with so much dimension. It's the way you walk, the way you talk, the way you make me feel inside. It's in your smile it's in your eyes-'
"Wanna dance, Hails?" he asked using my nickname.
"You-you want to slow dance?" I asked in disbelief.
"I might not like it as much, but I wanna give it a go. So..." he said.
I smiled and thought of him slow dancing. Well, I couldn't. It was pretty hard to imagine Josh Chomik-the dorky, awkward, and weird, computer nerd-slow dancing.
"Yes, I would love to." I said smiling and taking his hand.
Dancing with him is easier than I thought. He may have tripped a few times, but he's getting the hang of it. If only Ariana Grande's songs lasted longer, and that this moment would never end...
------------------------------------------Oh how much I wish he were here, with me, today. Five years later, him 26 years old, me 25 years old, with a new boyfriend, and I still miss him. He lives so far, we just couldn't make it work. I bet he's married-nope, probably not. Maybe he's still making videos, I wouldn't know. My boyfriend didn't, and still doesn't, like me "checking up" on my exes.
"Ready for dinner Hails?" Andrew said, making me miss Josh more. When he says my nickname, it just doesn't feel right.
"Yeah! I'm almost ready, hold on." I yelled, considering he was downstairs.
"Why do girls always take forever..." he said, sounding very annoyed.
He definitely wasn't as nice as Josh; and for the record, not as funny, awkward, or random. Andrew didn't like my randomness or my awkwardness. He said it's too childish, but when I'm with my girls, we get as random as we can. I feel like Andrew is pretty much controlling me in a way I don't even understand.
I think maybe he's thinking that he can MAKE me the perfect girl for him. He even attempts to make me put makeup on. By the way, I HATE MAKEUP. It's like, when you have an itch on your eye while wearing eye shadow and eyeliner, and you can't scratch it! Okay, back to the subject. He also tries to make me balance books on my head to correct my posture. He does it with me just to make it "better", but he's always sitting down while I'm walking around...dorko. And another thing; whenever he get's pizza or anything fattening, he always eats it all before I get a chance to even see it and then he makes me a salad.
I don't think any guy should do that to a girl, but I have no choice. He's the only one who doesn't remind me of Josh that much, who's actually into me and not gay or just plain doesn't like me that way. Also, the only guys I actually find "interesting" are completely random, just like Josh. It's just that, I'm not sure if Andrew really likes me.
"I'm ready! I'll be right down." I shouted.
"It's about time..." he mumbled impatiently, probably thinking that I didn't hear him.
We had just gotten in the car when he turned on the radio and Ariana Grande's daydreaming started to play loudly on the speakers. I immediately reached over and turned off the radio. Jeez, five years later and they're still playing it?
"Why'd you turn off the radio? I thought you liked Ariana Grande." he stated. I'm surprised he even rembered I turned off the radio. He's not stupid or anything, I just like thinking of random insults.
"Oh, I'm just too exited for our dinner date to listen to music." I said with a, hopefully not that obvious, fake smile.
"Well, I like to listen to music. Just turn the radio to a different station next time." he said not looking at me.
I turned the radio back on, but immediately turned the station. That's when I completely zoned out for the rest of the ride.
---------------------------------------'I don't wanna wait for tonight. So I'm, daydreamin'. With my chin in the palm of my hands, about you, you and only you got me. Daydreamin'!'
"You know it may be a slow dance, but I kinda like it." he said.
"Well that doesn't sound like Josh." I replied smiling like a goofball.
"Although, maybe I should request Gangnam Style...just for you." he said smiling widely at me.
"Now THAT sounds like Josh." I said smiling just as wide.
---------------------------------------"Hails, we're here." Andrew said getting out of the car.
I was about to get out of the car when Andrew came around just in time to open the door. Well, surprisingly, that's not a first. Always, at a crowded place, he acts like a gentlemen to make a good impression on people. Liar, Liar, pants on fire! But, he's all I got.
