Chapter 3

"Ooh! You have to try on this blouse!" Rose said shoving a light pink shirt in my face.

"Rose! I've tried on so many things already, can't I take a break and you try on a few things?" I asked her getting a little annoyed.

"Okay...but only if you go and talk to that guy over there." She said to me, gesturing to a blonde haired guy sitting in Starbucks.

"Rose, you know I can't do that. I...I just can't." I said, desperately wanting to go home at that moment.

"Okay, I understand...But I remember you never told me the reason why you left Josh in the first place, Hails." Rose said, looking at me intently.

I nodded slightly but lead her to a table inside the food court. We sat in noisy-mall-food-court like silence for a few minutes; me trying to collect myself and my explanation, and Rose, her knowing I had to take my time. By the time I had to tell Rose our story, I was crying steadily while she was hugging me and waiting for me to tell her. I finally gathered enough courage and began...

"Josh! J-just stop!" I exclaimed, laughing.

"Not until you tell me where you hid Applejack and agree to be in my new Rihanna parody!" He exclaimed.

I decided earlier to mess with Josh by hiding Applejack in my room. Josh, knowing I took Applejack, threatened to tickle me to my death and be in his new Rihanna, The Monster, parody. I was just thinking on giving up and giving Applejack back, but what's the fun in that?

"Josh! P-please I-"

"Not until you promise!" He exclaimed, still tickling me to make me give up.

"Fine! Applejack is in my room, I give!" Yeah, I gave up that fast...

He stopped tickling me and looked into my eyes," And be in my new Rihanna parody..." He said, breathing smoothly while my breathing was uneven and ragged.

"I promise..."

That was the first time he ever really looked serious. We stayed like that for a few moments, catching our breath. He was the first to lean forward when the door bell rang, signaling that the mail was there. I quickly wriggled out of his soft grip and ran to the door. It seemed like forever until I reached the mailbox and searched for the letter. I finally found it after a lot of searching for mail in the rain. I ran back inside at sat at the kitchen table.
