I ran as fast as could. I was speechless. My sweat & breathing intensified. This duck suit is seriously not gonna last. I was afraid that it might tear, & kill me. It still held on. That's a relief. Madison hurried to the liquor part of the store, grabbed some vodka, & some paper.
"Here. Take off the cap & put the paper in." Madison said to some other survivors. Now I was literally running in the green gas clouds & surprisingly, the suit still held. RUN! RUN FASTER! I was about 10 feet from the door, until I passed the green gas & the double doors, my suit finally gave. Madison, scurrying to try to find a hazmat for me, the ship's gas stopped because someone had thrown a bottle at the ship.
"Here!" Madison yelled. I hurried & put on the suit she grabbed from the inventory. "No cuts?" "No. I'm fine." It was raining too. How'd they'd light the paper up? They used a stick lighter & the same sorta lighter type I used when I blew the other ship down. Medics were working as fast as they could with the injured, Madison giving people bottles & throwing them, & I'm trying to tell Madison to give me one.
"Madison." No reply. "Madison." Still no reply. "MADISON!" "What?" Some one lost their balance to the slippery walkway & threw the bottle in a funny way. "NO!" The bottle hit the asphalt, hard & quick, next to the doors, creating a puddle of flame. "I need a bottle. I know what to do." I grabbed the bottle from Madison, exchanging looks that she knew were bad.
You know what to do, right? It's just like Howard's farm. I glanced in every direction, trying to find a truck or a car. Damn it! I need another bottle. There was no liquor store except inside the superstore. I needed to get there, but there's another problem. There's a line of fire, guarding the entrance. It was about 6-7 feet tall. The back door!
I hurried & sprinted towards the back door & of course, it had a padlock. Two of them. So I tried to find my air-can. But I had it with me when I left the store? I looked back & I saw it. It was underneath the ship. I had no other choice, but to retrieve it & save the store. That can is a matter of life or death situation.
I ran back towards the front & it was like a maze of fire. I ran past it & I was now under the ship. I found it & ran back into the back of the store & froze off the first padlock, but the second one was locked from the inside. Why would anyone lock it from both sides? I froze it & kicked the door. Wouldn't budge. I did it one more time & it wouldn't even budge.
There was the door knob, so I kicked it off & froze the lock again. It swung open with force, crashing behind a box of liquor. Oh you're kidding me! Almost all the bottles were at least cracked or just plain broken. But I still kept looking. Yes! One was still in good shape & it was a Jack Daniels. I ran back in the front, through the extinguished flames, & I saw a car in the distance. There!
I went to it & luckily, the key was still in the ignition. I started it, hoping that the ship would turn its attention towards me. It didn't. The gas tank in the SUV was empty. Now what do I do? I looked up top, the building had a staircase & across from that, is the ships ventilation. Ah HA! I got out the SUV & made my way to the building. I came up front to the door & it was locked. I don't have time for this!
I picked up a rock & threw it at the window. It got smashed into a billion pieces. The ship made a low growl noise & turned around briefly. Nothing. Just shattered pieces of glass, while I try to destroy it. Hehe... I found the staircase going up to the top & opened the hatch covering the inside.
When I looked at the ship, I was actually kinda worried what the other survivors were doing to keep attention. Throwing rocks, bottles, shooting guns at it. And the ship just kept spitting green. I was having a hard time trying to find the ventilation shaft & I finally found it. It was on the right side of the ship & it has a time delay. About every 5 seconds, it would open & close for about 10-20 seconds.
I have to get this right. If I don't... I watched very closely at it & it shut opened & I threw the first bottle at it. CLUNK! BOOM! It hit the side of the vent, but no damage. Then, the ship spun around & stared at me straight in the face. I hurried to grab the second bottle & the paper. The wind was breezy, so when I pulled it, WHOOSH! The paper flew out of my hands. I started towards the direction of the paper & it was over the edge. NO!
I have gotten to this point & survived. A piece of paper is now the matter of life or death. I reached out my arm & grabbed the paper. You lil' shit. I stuffed it into the neck of the bottle & lit it. "I NEED A DISTRACTION! SOMETHING IN THE NORTH!" "OKAY!" Someone replied. He threw another bottle at it & the ship turned to him.
3... 2... 1... The countdown was a coincidence & very lucky, because the vent had opened up. And now, the bottle slipped from my hand & flung itself to the inside of the vent. It closed shut. Did it make it-
