It started as child's play. A senseless game. August knew what Jimin was playing at but he couldn't do anything. He had reasons why he never did anything anywhere. It was to avoid having himself dragged back into that world his Father built but his efforts weren't enough. There were too many variables involved and one of them was the first girl he ever liked.

He could've confessed to her anytime but he wouldn't risk it. He knew she will end up right in the eye of the storm and she did because he was careless. Because he was incompetent. Because he liked her but he couldn't fight for her back then.

He remembered how it started, when he began liking her. She was so simple and ordinary compared to others. He liked how she would watch at him sleeping in the library, how he would come across her in the hallway and their gazes would meet for a second before she would turn away shyly, how she always steal glances at him during classes and he pretends not to notice it. It would've been nice if they stayed that way, if only she didn't get pulled into this stupid game. She could still be that pretty girl he liked, chaste and untainted.

August recognized the same old pictures that run along the wall where the whole family heritage hung proudly. It didn't take him another second as it all dawned on him. He is undeniably back to this horrid place; the source of his nightmares. He was a different person now, however, one thing did not change. He is still determined to destroy this damned house. He will get the girl back no matter what and burn the place to ashes.

He pushed the heavy doors open and as it did, minute memoirs of his childhood flashed  before his eyes. The kid stood before him, smiling as he remembered him that day they took a picture together. His beloved brother welcomed him home.

"I knew you'd come soon. I waited for you." William gave him a smile, but he was no longer the boy in his memories. He was a puppet.

"Mara. Where is she?"

"Hasty. Always so hasty." William tapped his fingers simultaneously against marble dining table, "She is very safe. I give you my word but didn't you come with a proposal? Let's hear it? What would you do for that girl?" He added, showing off a wicked smile. "Sit down."

"You know pretty damn well I didn't come here to chat." August growled, his patience growing short.

"Sit. Down." William replied sternly, staring back at him intently. August had no other options but to do as he was told. He sat himself at the other end of the otherwise empty dining table. "Now isn't that easier? This way, we'll speed things up."

"Why did you take her? What the fuck do you need me here for?" August began questioning and William smiled.

"Father wants you back." William answered, curling his fist into a ball, "He has always wanted you. Even when you left and abandoned me, he has always asked for you. He never wanted me.. I did everything he asked but even then, I still couldn't free myself out of your shadow. Why!" He banged his fist down on the table, "must it always be about you?"

It was hard on August to listen to his cries, "William, I didn't leave you. It was Father. He wanted us to fight. He wanted us to kill each other for power like irrational animals. That was his plan from the beginning, we were nothing but tools to him."

"Fucking shut up!" William shouted, his voice over powering August's, "Father will never do that."

"I didn't want to fight my brother so I left. I gave up everything so you could live without ever having to make the decision whether to kill me or not," August added, reaching out to his brother even though some part of him knew it was a long shot, "I didn't want that for my little brother."
