My alarm was ringing at six am. I yawned, stretched, and got up. "Fuck," I heard Eileen mumbled. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." I said, opening a drawer. "It's cool, I have Jerens this morning." she sat up, she was in a bra. "Oh cool, I take Jerens too." I smiled. I grabbed a beige cardigan and a black skirt. I carried my toiletries into the bathroom and turned ok the shower.
I got dressed and walked back to my room. I pulled my Toms on and pulled my hair into a ponytail. "Shit, Nick's still asleep." she turned her phone off. "Hey, let's stop by Frazier's and get breakfast." she smiled, I nodded.
As we walked down the hall, Eileen stopped at a door and knocked. No answer. She shook her head and dug around in her purse. She unlocked the door and pushed it open. I smelled something strong as we stepped in. "Nicholas! Get your pothead ass up!" Eileen yelled as she walked in. He was in boxers, his hair a mess. He just moaned. "Ana, could you get him up please? I need to get Marisa up." she said walking over to the door. "Oh uh sure." I sat my backpack down. She left and I stood there. "Umm.. Nick?" I walked closer. His soft snores were muffled by the pillow. "Niickk." I dragged, shaking him lightly. His eyes moved under his lids, but he didn't wake up. Hmm, be loud. I took in a deep breath and yelled, "Nicholas! Get up!!" his eyes opened slowly. He smiled. He rolled onto his back, the lines from the sheet embedded in his skin. "Good morning." he placed his hands under his head. "Good morning." I swayed on my feet. He pulled his lip into between his teeth. He sat up, stretching. "Wew!" he yawned and stood up. Never a day in my life I had I ever looked at someone in a sexual way, but my eyes flashed down to the lifted spot in his boxers. I looked away, blushing. He chuckled and walked past me, walking in to the bathroom. "Make yourself at home. I'll be out in a minute." he smiled.
I sat on his bed, looking around his room. He didn't have a roommate, it was just one bed. A kingsize in the center of the room, a black night stand on both sides. My eyes scanned around, they stopped on the dresser. I saw a paper, some green shreds in it, then a bong over to the left. Dang. Does everyone do drugs here? I shook my head and looked out of the window, watching people walk to class. The door opened, Marisa and Eileen walked in. "Aye! Ana, what's up gorgeous?" Marisa smiled and sat beside me. "Hi," I said quietly. "Aw, your so shy. Cute." she giggled. "Where's boner boy?" Eileen asked, pulled a chair out from under the desk. "Who?" I raised an eye brow. "Nick?" she said. "Oh, he's in the bathroom." I nodded. "Nicholas, quit beating your shit and get out here, I got some green!" Eileen yelled towards the door. He yelled something back, but I didn't understand it. Some green. Is that marijuana? Soon the door opened and Nick with a white towel wrapped tightly around his waist, water dripping from his body, walked out. He walked over the dresser and pulled out a pair of boxers, a black shirt, and some jeans. He dropped the towel, I looked away. "So Ana, how was Florida?" he asked, I didn't look. "Oh uh.. its was um.. good. Warm, it's uh.. cool." I stuttered. I closed my eyes, shaking my head slightly. I just heard him chuckle. "Cool, so your the scholarship everyone's talking about?" he asked, he had his boxers on. "Uh , yeah. I mean I guess." I didn't know what to say. "We don't get many of those, our rich ass parents usually pay for us." he shrugged. "I had sex with the administrators son to get in." Marisa said, shrugging. "I sold some white to Ashely to give a good word in for me so." Eileen nodded. "Well, while you two are doing illegal and freaky shit, I actually made it into her, only paying like.. eighty five percent." he sat down, pulling his shoes on. "Was it a full ride? Like, what was your GPA?" he asked. "A five point oh on a weight scale." I said, proud. "Bro, I made a two point three." Eileen sighed. "Fuck, if pay for that. I made a two." Marisa shook her head. "I think mine was a three point four maybe." Nick said, lacing his shoes. We walked into Frazier's, the smell of coffee and breakfast meals invaded my lungs. "Hi! Welcome to Frazier's, how may I help you?" the cashier asked. "Give me the bacon egg and cheese burrito, and a Brain Freeze smoothie." Marisa said, her voice smooth. After everyone ordered, I began doubting this. Where were their manners! Nick was the only one who said please, but his order was. "Can I get a egg and cheese biscuit- shit, fuck I meant burrito. Yeah I want a burrito please." Not very polite. She looked like she was used to them, she just punched in their order. She looked up at me, and I swear she sigh, man another one. I smiled, "Hi. Can I get a blueberry muffin and a Morning rush coffee please?" I asked nicely, the cashier smiled. "Your not like them, are you?" she whispered. I looked back at them, "By far."
When we talked into Jernes class, everyone stared. "Sorry were late teach, I got hungry." Nick said, throwing his backpack down. He sat down, Marisa sat to the left of him, Eileen behind him, I beside to the right of him. I stayed quiet. I pulled out my laptop and began typing some notes. "Are you really doing this?" Eileen leaned up. I just nodded. She started laughing. I shook my head slightly, going back to what I was doing.
On throughout the class, Nick, Marisa and Eileen joked and played around. "Anyone have any questions?" Jernes asked. "Yeah! Why are you so fat?" His voice was deep, everyone giggled. I sighed, why? "Nick.." I sighed. They all looked over at me. "Your such a baby! Jeez, have fun for once." Marisa said. I frowned, "sorry." I looked forward. I heard Eileen say something, I couldn't hear. The class ended and I gathered my things. "Ms Delaware, may I see you after class?" The professor asked. I looked over to Nick who was packing is bag. "Uh yeah, sure." I walked down the stairs. Everyone left, Nick looked to me. "I'll meet you later." I shooed him off. "Are you sure?" He eyed Jernes. I nodded. "Okay, call me if you need anything." he gives the professor a look. He left the door open, Jernes pulled it shut. I ran cold, no need to be nervous Ana. "So, I see that you walked in with Nick and his friends.. was that a coincidence?" he leaned against his desk. "No sir, they are my friends." I said, shaking my head. "Well maybe you should rethink who your friends are." he said, his voice calm. "Why is that? There is nothing wrong with them." I asked raising my voice. "Have you really gotten to know them?" he leaned in. "N-no. What does this have to do with you? My choice of friends are my business, not yours." I stomped, a habitat from when I was normal. "I'm positive they are going to drag you down. I want you to be at your full potential Anastasia. They are bad people." he crossed his arms. "You don't know anything about them! You-" I paused. "You need to mind your darn business!" I balled my fist. He just grinned, nodding. "Alright," he looked at the door. I adjusted my skirt and left.
When I opened the door, my blood ran with anger. "Ana?" Nicks voice cooed, he followed me. "What?" I turned. "What did he say? Wh- Stop walking." he grabbed me. "What did he say?" He asked. "He-.. he said you guys were bad. He asked why I was friends with you guys." I said, shaking my head. "Like- like he knows you or something!" I threw my hands up. "Hey, you know what? Fuck him. Fuck what he has to say." Nick said, looking at me. "Come on," he grabbed my hand and pulled me along. "Where are we going?" I asked. "To blow off steam." he smirked.
