'I could go to a million universes and never find someone else who could make me feel this way

'I could go to a million universes and never find someone else who could make me feel this way. Only my Paul. Only him.'

"Do you like me?" Xavier pops the question out of the blue. I raise my eyes from the book and look at him with annoyance drawn all over my face.

"No, I don't like you. I like Paul Markov, so let me read my book now," I return my eyes back to the book as Xavier stands on top of the table.

Why can't I read peacefully? Shutting my book, I turn my attention to him. "Hey Xavier, how is your day going? What on earth are you doing?"

He ignores me and says out loud, "who here goes by the name Paul Markov?" I slap my head in frustration and attempt to pull him down, but he doesn't move a single nerve.

"Benjamin, Paul Markov is a character in the book I'm reading." I show him my book and he snatches it from me.

"Careful, you rip a page and I'll rip your throat out." His hands instantly slow down and I nod in approval. Suddenly, he gently pulls me out of my seat and we walk out of the cafeteria.

"Can you stop causing scenes? What's wrong with you? You've been acting very weird the past few days." He pushes me against the lockers and cages me with a hand on each side.

"You've been driving me crazy Adelaide. I don't know why; I've never felt this way towards any girl and you're different."

"Well I'm afraid the feeling isn't mutual Benjamin." Is it really?

He opens his mouth to say something but decides against it. "Besides aren't these the same words you say to win all the previous girls' hearts? The same words and actions, taken from movies and books might I add. Don't bother trying all these old dirty tricks of yours with me because they're not working. I suggest you start looking for new tricks and movies because you're out of date." The students in the hallway begin oohing and gathering around. Oh I'm not even done

His mouth drops and he gawks at me with disbelief. "Aw poor xavy isn't used to being rejected. Don't worry, I have candy to turn your frown upside down and glue for your shattered ego. Oh and I'll send you a list of movies and books to update your flirting skills. I hope you have enough space in that rubbish filled brain of yours for the large update."

This is too much fun but decide that's enough destroying....for now. I push his hands away and flip my hair making a dramatic exit. Resisting the urge to turn and see his face, I walk back to the cafeteria.

FEW DAYS LATER

I think I really hurt Xavier and his ego because he has disappeared for the last few days.

Okay I admit maybe I was too harsh. The wound was too deep but it'll eventually heal.

"Adelaide can we talk?" Well the wound certainly healed fast. I turn to look at him to be greeted by the sight of the zombie version of Xavier.

"What happened to you? You look hideous." Well that was quite straightforward Adelaide.

"Well I have a huge chemistry test coming up and I've been trying to understand but all I see is a bunch of letters and numbers. I need your help," he puts his hands in his pockets and glances down.

"Okay sure, meet me at my house like last time." He nods and walks away.

I shout out loud, " a small thank you would suffice." He turns around and mouths 'thank you' then resumes walking.

"Why am I even helping him?" I mutter to myself as I head to class. Because it's the right thing to do

A FEW DAYS LATER AFTER THE CHEMISTRY TEST

Someone taps on my shoulder and as I turn around a paper is smacked onto my face.

I grab the paper and find a huge A next to Xavier's name. I lift my eyes from the paper and look at Xavier's cheerful face.

"Thank you so much Adelaide. I owe you big time," he grabs me and squeezes me.

Xavier is hugging a girl..

Give it a few seconds and he'll realize.

Not a few seconds later his hands instantly relax and he creates the biggest distance between us. Like any typical boy, he begins to scratch his head in embarrassment. Oh how would I like to embarrass him right now

Adelaide give the guy a break...

"You're welcome Xavier and I'm so proud of you. Besides I haven't done anything; you were the one who was determined to pass and I was the one who gave you the tiny push. Great job Xavier."

I sound like such a parent/teacher.. Guidance to 'Adulting' by Adelaide Tade

"You're not so bad after all Tade. Yes, you might be mean and so much more, but you're a good tutor," he winks then walks away. What's that supposed to mean? I'm not that horrendous; in fact, I'm quite the charm, but with no filter obviously.

You know what is one thing I despise? People that state something and choose to leave me hanging at the edge of the cliff. Well I have never tolerated these types of people; you either throw me off the cliff and deal with my rage or pull me to safety.

Xavier Benjamin just messed with wrong girl once again. I'll try to tone down the offends (try being the key word here)

I slam my locker shut and head to the cafeteria where Xavier would  be hitting on some girl or showing off as usual.

"Hey Addie," Damien calls my name but I'm in zone to stop for him and perform my sister duties.

"Not right now twin. I'm on a mission," I state as I walk past him shaking his head in amusement.

"Once you complete your mission Bond, check the text from me," he shouts and earns a thumbs up from me.

I'm then greeted by Hailee and Heather, but they know me too well to stop me. "We're right here A, I'll hold him," Hailee says.

"And I'll tie him," Bailee jumps in. I pull them in for a hug, "and that's why you guys are my best friends."

We slam the cafeteria door open together and walk proudly towards Xavier. I look at my friends and we all smirk. We are enjoying this way too much.

"Hey Xavier, do you mind coming with us for a minute. We need to have a talk." He raises an eyebrow and crosses his hand. Well I tried being nice.

Hailee and Heather shake their heads with disapproval and look at him with pity.

"Let me rephrase it. Xavier you need to come with me right now or you will regret it." I'm really holding back here

"What are you going to do darling?" He uses his British accent and I internally cringe because of the nickname.

"Let's just say you'll need more glue for that ego of yours," he immediately stands up and walks out with us. The wound hasn't completely healed after all.

"Okay darling, I'm listening."
