[ present ]

they had only been at the party for a few minutes and fleur was already alone.

nia had gone for drinks, ian was going to show casey something in the garden and miranda had gone dancing.

fleur was in no mood to talk so she rushed into the first room she could find, which happened to be occupied by jc.

"oh! sorry, i'll go," fleur said.

"nah, it's ok. stay."

fleur nodded then awkwardly perched on the end of the bed, a safe distance from jc.

"you ok? you know, about what i said.."

"yh, jc, i'm good. my friends are helping."

"that's good."

jc got closer and, for some reason, it made fleur feel emotional, perhaps because jc reminded her of kian.

then she started to cry.

quickly, jc put his arm around fleur's shoulder and pulled her into his chest, where she softly sobbed.

"listen, if a boy takes a girl like you for granted, then he doesn't deserve your sadness."

fleur laughed harshly and lifted her head and jc had this look in his eye that told fleur what he wanted.

leaning forward, he pressed his lips to hers.

and fleur responded.

the kiss was hard and rough and needy.

and fleur kissed him and kissed him and kissed him.

until, the door handle started rattling and the two quickly pulled apart.

it was only some drunk girl but fleur started out the room immediately.

she didn't look for any of her friends and just started leaving and kept leaving until she reached her house.

when she reached her door, kian was standing in front of it.

he looked a mess.

hesitantly, fleur walked up to him and sat on her door step, still in shock.

kian joined her on the step and took out his hand from his pockets so he could lay it over fleur's.

she let him.

"i'm not cheating on you," he said.

"i want to believe you."

"and i need you to believe me, so here's the truth. the night you called me, me and jc were at this girl, ella's, house."

"why was you at her house?"

"i was picking up cocaine."

"cocaine! kian, what the fuck?! since when do you do coke? that can fuck you up, you know."

kian laughed lightly and linked his fingers through fleur's.

"i don't do cocaine, me and jc were just gunna try it once but i didn't even end up doing it."

"why didn't you just tell me that?" she asked.

"did you just see how you reacted?"

"did you see how i reacted when i thought you were cheating?"

the words turned sour in fleur's mouth as she remembered what had happened earlier that night.

kian raised a hand to her face.

"i would never cheat on you, ok? never. that's the end of it, so don't think that i would. i love you and need you too much to fuck it up and lose you."

fleur started to cry and kian held her which just made her cry more.

she thought she should be crying from relief, but she wasn't.

she was cry because she felt guilty.
