fleur met jc on a bench outside of the park the three of them always went to.

jc looked fine which seemed to piss fleur off a little.

"how are you?" he asked when he leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"i've been better."

"same but you get why i did it, right?"

"i think i do now."

"because i couldn't keep on lying to him?"

"no, jc, that's not why."

he looked confused for a second then laughed nervously.

"what are you on about, fleur?"

"how long have you been trying to fuck us up?was that ur plan all along? i've been thinking about all the times you've ruined our plans and it all makes sense."

"what the fuck do you mean?"

"you lied to me. you weren't at home on monday, you were with kian when he went to buy the weed and kian wasn't out all night."

jc looked like he might try to argue back, but then decided against it.

he didn't even look shocked.

"you didn't even have a party on saturday, did you?"

"we did but kian didn't kiss a girl or go into a room with her."

"why would you do that?! what the fuck have i done to you?! we're friends, jc!"

"that's the fucking problem. i don't want to be your friend."

and, it all started to click together.

"you like me?" she asked.

"of course i like you."

"for how long?"

"for as long as i can remember."

"why didn't you just tell me?"

"because you were my best mate's girl. i didn't want to fuck up things with kian."

"so you lied and tricked me into kissing you? because that made things with kian just fine, didn't it?"

"imagine how i felt! i had to watch you with him everyday!"

fleur scoffed and stood up.

"i don't feel bad for you, jc. you should have told me and we could have sorted something out to make it ok with the three of us but instead you fucked up your own friendship and my relationship."

"i didn't think it would have changed anything if i told you."

"you were my friend, as well. i would have never hurt you on purpose."

"was? i was your friend?"

looking down, fleur tried not to cry.

she had already lost one of her oldest friends, now she was losing another.
