Bet On It. (Short Story)

Sienna

I sat there still in shock not hearing them calling me from downstairs until Cai rushed upstairs with a gun in his hand. I just laid on the floor looking at nothing in particular.  He took a sigh of relief before sitting the gun down and laying on the floor with me. "What happened?" I ignored him and looked ahead of me. I didn't to talk and I definitely didn't want him looking at me. "Si, baby talk to me." I turned over not wanting to look at him. I felt him pull me closer. I tried pushing him away, but he wouldn't budge. "Please just leave me alone." I cried. He held me tighter. "Nah, not until you tell me what happened." "I don't know alright? I walked in here and this is what I saw! Everything that I worked my ass off for was in this house and now it's gone, all of it." I was now sobbing and turned back into his embrace. For the rest of the night I cried while he held me in his arms and rubbed my back.

I woke up in my bed and looked around the mess of a room I had. I sighed before getting up and going to the bathroom, they broke the mirrors and emptied all my draws throwing things on the floor. I began to pick some stuff up before I broke down again. I heard a knock at the door and looked up, it was Lace. I gave her a weak smile. "Hey, you alright?" I nodded my head no and went back to crying. She rushed in the bathroom and hugged me while I sobbed. "This has to be one of the worst things to happen to me Lace, I've never done anything to anyone and look at this shit!" I pointed to the mess that I was surrounded by. She shook her and wiped a couple of my tears. "We'll find the person Si, you know we will." I just nodded my head and picked up the rest of the things with the help of Lace. After that I took a shower and got ready to go to the shop. I couldn't sit around in here, it was just depressing. I walked out the house not talking to anyone, I just didn't feel like it, they would probably make me feel even more sad about the situation.

"Sharesse, lock up tonight please?" She nodded and I smiled leaving the salon keys with her. I sighed before getting in my car and driving to my 'home'. I was about to park in my driveway when I saw two men fighting. I parked on the curb and turned off my car before rushing towards the men. Once I got there I saw Cai and some unknown nigga fighting. "What the fuck!" They both were still fighting until I tried to break it up. "Get off of him! Cai! Ya'll better chill before I call the police!" After they heard that they got up and I got a good look at the guy, this was the same nigga that was in the grocery store making fun of me when Cai made that stupid ass bet. I looked at the both of them confused. "Who are you?" The guy smirked at me. "Your future husband." Before I could reply, Cai was already on his ass. I pulled Cai away from him."Stop Cairo." He pushed him again and wrapped his arms around me protectively. "I don't know you." He chuckled. "Yes you do baby. You don't remember me Zoey?" I gasped loudly. "Telvin?" "Yeah baby, in the flesh." He said opening his arms. Telvin was my first boyfriend ever. Like that was my best friend, I lost my virginity to him and then we ended up breaking up because he cheated and abused me. He calls me Zoey because when we first met freshman year he asked me my name and I told him it was Zoey, it kind of just stuck since then. 

"What are you doing here Tel?" He shrugged. "I missed you." Cairo tightened his grip on me. "Telvin, you already know who I'm with, you helped bet with him remember?!" "That was only to see if he was gon do that shit. I thought he would've left you alone after that night and then you'd be depressed, that's when I was supposed to make my move and get you back, but then I found out you was pregnant, I was so heated! That was supposed to be our baby in there Zoey! You took that shit away from me! That was supposed to be Kailey!"

I started to cry. "Don't do that to me Telvin! Don't! That's not fair and you know it!" I screamed at him. "You know why she died huh? Cause you ain't want her in the first place! You killed her Sienna!" I released myself from Cai's grip and slapped him. "Fuck you Telvin. I loved that little girl to death and you know it! When she died I died with her. You were supposed to be consoling me, loving me, but you know what you do? You abused me for two whole years and cheated!  Yes, I was gonna be a eighteen year old mother, but I was in love with you and her. So cut the bullshit now!" He looked a little hurt, but then regained his self. "You killed her." "You got thirty seconds to get the fuck off my property before I call Gerald out here cause now I know who did this shit to my house." "Your smart Zoey, real smart. Imma leave for now, but I'll be back." He grinned before jogging off to his car. I just watched as he drove off. 

"Baby.-"

"Not now Cai. I don't want to talk right now." I walked into the house without him and went upstairs to my now clean room. I took a shower and climbed in bed letting tears freely fall. I can't beleieve he would blame me for the death of our daughter. I just can't seem to catch a break.
