If only I had known
When I opened the doors to the school I was welcomed by the smell of cherry's. Like the stuff they put down when someone vomits all over the floor or something. What I was guessing was the front desk was off to my right and behind it was a glass window that showed what I could only guess was the office. In front of me were another set of glass doors leading out to the foyer. At the front desk sat an middle aged women in a little two bright a yellow blouse with black glasses. I walked up to her and just kinda stood there. I didn't want to be rude or anything so I just waited until she noticed me. When she finally did look up from her small Apple laptop she look startled to see me. "Oh my goodness! You scared the living day lights out of me." She said with a laugh. "Ummm.....sorry?" I said it more like a question than an apology noticing my "Oh it's fine. Ummm what do you need?"
"Oh umm I'm the new student Tamsin Greer."
"Oh okay well you can just go to the main office right behind me and they'll get you all set."
"Okay thanks." The secretary just waved and I walked to were she had directed me. The main office smelled like lemon grass and had a aura of anxiety in it like.if you were here you knew you were in trouble. I walked up to the main desk and went through pretty much the normal first day stuff like getting a agenda and scheduled. In the end I was told that I would be given someone with the same general schedule as me to lead me around to the school. I was told to wait for this mystery girl to appear. All i knew about her so far was that her name was Amanda and that we had the same schedule (obviously). She was suppose to be here at 10:00 but it was already 10:10. Running fashionably late i suppose. Then all of a sudden stumbled in this girl. She had short blonde hair with pink streaks in it. She had the most amazing blue eyes I had ever seen. She was beautiful ill giver her that but I don't know something about her just rubbed me the wrong way. In her arms she carried a plain black binder and an English book. "sorry i'm late." she said "This kid in my class was going super slow and Mrs. Polk wouldn't let us leave' she explained sounding exasperated. " It's quite all right." the secretary said. "Anyway Tamsin this is Amanda she will be helping you finding your way around the school." She said with a smile. "Great." i said trying my best to sound excited. The last thing i needed was for Amanda to think i was some stuck up bitch especially if we had all the same classes together. I may not like her but she may be the best shot i have at finding a friend around here. "okay well you two better be getting back to class ill see you guys later." and with that we left. "so...." Amanda started but i interrupted her. "Don't okay look I get it and I don't expect you to just invite me into your click of friends. Because to be honest i wouldn't if I were you I probably wouldn't wanna be my friend either so the choice is up to you but just let me know." Amanda looked at me with a stunned expression on her face. "Oh okay well one i'd appreciate it if you wouldn't just assume that I was one of those bitchy types who only sticks with her one set of friends and two I was just gonna ask you few questions to get to know you." Now it was my turn to be shocked. Usually people just took one look at me and that was it never really caring enough to get to know me just judging a book by it's cover. But i guess in a way that's what i was doing to Amanda now witch isn't fair of me. I quickly mumbled an apology. "It's fine I guess. We all make mistakes." She sent me a forgiving smile and I knew we were okay. "Anyway what did you wanna ask me?" She opened her mouth to reply but just then we walked up to a classroom door. "Sorry it seems as though our conversation has been cut short. Would you like to sit with me and my friends at lunch and continue our conversation?" "Yeah sure that would be great." She nodded before opening the door and walking in. I was about to go to the back of the class before I realized that I didn't know where exactly that was so I just stood awkwardly by the door. The teacher, Mrs Polk i think, looked at me and smiled. She had one of those faces that looked like whenever they smiled it was forced and that they didn't mean it. I decided right then and there that I didn't like her not one bit.~
