story on hold?

I'm thinking about putting this story on hold. I mean, I haven't even updated in a while. I knew where I wanted this story to go but I just feel like there should be more detail in the beginning. Like more conversations between Ariel and Erick so you could see how they became so close. So I think I'm just soon going to unpublish this story, edit it, add more things, and then once all that is done I'll post it again. 

thoughts?

Put it on hold and continue when I figure it out just the way it is?

Unpublish it, make it better, and then post it again?

or just delete it?
