"Do it. Shoot me." Sky's mouth dropped open, staring in shock at Ty. "Come on, I said shoot me!" The red-eyed male had his hands up, staring sky right in the eyes. "No, I won't shoot you," sky shouted back, his hands gripped tight around the gun. "You owe me. Do it. Death is better then where I'll be sent if they catch me. So be the hero and shoot me already dammit!" Ty's voice was increasing in volume, he tone more aggressive, pleading even. "I... I can't shoot you and you know that! Just surrender already! This isnt about your petty pride," his sunglasses wear askew, his normally steady hands shaking. "Come on, shoot me or I'll shoot you instead. Choose." Ty's hand went to his belt and pulled out a gun. "Ya got till I count down from ten to shoot me. If I reach zero and im not dead, you will be." Sky stared at the gun now pointed at him, biting his lip. "I won't shoot you! Just give up already Ty," Ty let out a sickly chuckle. "Death would be better. 10. 9. 8." Sky's grip grew tighter around the handle, finger no on the trigger. He could see Jason in the helicopter circling, Mitch and Jerome running up. "Hurry up guys!" He turned back to face Ty, who by now had reached down to five. "Come on, shoot me! Im making your damn job easier just shoot me!" Sky kept shaking his head in a no. Ty was at two. The gun was still aimed at sky's head. Seconds flew by and there was a bang. Sky dropped the gun in shock. Ty looked him in the eyes before whispering something to him. "You're my god damn hero," he crumpled to the ground, the red quickly pooling around him. Sky was shaking, and as he looked up Jason had saluted him, Mitch and Jerome patting him on the back and congratulating him. It didn't feel like he had done anything special. The fact he had killed a man lingered above his head. The fact he had killed someone he loved would never leave him. For the rest of his life, he would remember the flicker of gratitude and love that filled Ty's eyes before they grew dull. For the rest of his life he would remember how it felt to hold the gun, the adrenaline that had filled him as his finger hovered over the trigger. For the rest of his life, he would remember the recoil of the gun and the sound of Ty hitting the ground. He was known as a hero, the guy who stopped the monster. But to sky, he questioned that. He was a hero to the people, because he stopped the menace. He was a hero to Ty because he granted him his wish. But to himself, he was the monster for killing someone he loved, and that fact would never leave him.
