Iris followed Tarek to a small opening behind the festival. There was..... a giant turtle? It was dark blue, and it's shell was eggshell white. There was a saddle also. A saddle? Iris was more confused than The Author on a math test.
"So... what's with the tortoise thing?"
"Turtle actually. He's gonna be our ride. Climb on."Tarek practically jumped on the turtle, and Iris carefully followed suit.
"Now watch this."
The turtle rose in the air, gracefully kissing the sky. It moved slowly at first, then picked up speed, like a train does when it leaves a station. Iris grabbed the sides of the saddle to keep from falling off."Any seat belts on this thing?"
"Oh wait! Hold on."Tarek snapped his fingers, and the walls of the saddle climbed higher. Iris relaxed. She could let go of the handles now, although she didn't. She had a fear of heights, which in this situation probably wasn't a good thing.
"Where are we going anyway?"
"We're heading to the Main Headquarters, to register you as an active being. You are a goddess after all, albeit a minor one. It's pretty far from here, but Gregory here can go pretty fast."
"You named the turtle Gregory."
"Well yeah, that's what I said, right?"
"I'm at a loss for words."
