Chapter Six
Over the course of a few hours, the scenery changed from a dense forest to a smooth ground made of... was that marble? In the distance, a great circular building emerged. It looked to be at least a mile in diameter, made out of a mix of red and black gemstones. There was a great enterance, of which was lined in gold, as were the windows. There was a great glass dome on top, which had circular rings of what appeared to be diamonds. Gregory The Turtle landed outside the entrance, which was paved with solid bricks of gold. Tarek and Iris both got off of Gregory, and started to walk inside.
They reached a great desk, carved out of the same black material. There were people sitting at the desk, five of them, but they each had something different. One had a bull's head, another had two tails, and yet another had eight eyes. Tarek and Iris walked over to the one with the excess eyes. Tarek said something in some kind of language, one Iris was unable to understand. She caught a few words, however. "...request... sign... yes..." It wasn't nearly enough to have a full grasp on the situation, but Iris was surprised she could hear that much anyway. The creature at the desk responded in the same tone, only with a few clicks included.
Tarek and Iris proceeded to walk into a room much like the old rooms where you used to develop photos. Tarek held his hand up to the door, and it glowed green before opening.
Tarek pointed to a large black stone block. "You need to put your hand on this, and it will complete the registration," he said with a smile. Iris agreed, and did so. The room flashed blue for a good two minutes, and finally turned green.
"Can we leave now?" Iris asked.
"Yeah, were done here," Tarek responded.
They left the building, registration cards in hand. All of a sudden, Iris was grabbed by the arm, and tossed to the ground.
"Hello, nice to see you again, Tarek," an unknown voice spoke.
Tarek responded. "What do you want, Rhiannon." His voice was cold and rough, like rusty gears trying to work again. "Can't you see I'm busy here?"
"Oh, I know that. That's why I chose to visit. Are you still mad at me, dear brother?"
Iris stood up, and walked over to the scene. Rhiannon had not noticed she was there, so Iris tried to knock her to the side. Rhiannon simply pushed her away, diverting the energy from her into Iris.
"Now, now, why are you attacking me? You don't even know me. That's very rude, you know."
Tarek finally responded. "Listen, you need to leave. I'm really busy right now, and it's important. You know, paperwork and stuff."
"Hmph. Fine then. But I'll come back, and you better listen to me!"
Rhiannon became shrouded in a ball of darkness, which collapsed into itself, teleporting Rhiannon... wherever she went.
There was a silence before Iris spoke.
"Who was that?"
"Er... one of our... siblings. Not the nicest person."
they headed back to the turtle, and took off on it again.
"We need to help you discover and control your powers. No offense, but you're pretty much useless in a fight."Wow. Thanks."
