Third period: Language Arts. Robert is now partners with Camila and I am forced to be with John.
In our school there are two popular groups: the sluts and man whores, and the nice guys. John just so happens to be part of the man whore group. With his blonde, messy hair and bright green eyes I can see why girls fall for him. Not to mention his nice sense of style. He looks like he came straight from a photo shoot every day.
"So how do you feel knowing that you broke up the school's favorite couple?" John greeted me as he sat down. Not even a small wave; great way to start.
"When did I break up Ms. Encha and soup?" I retorted back and tried to pull it off with a straight face.
"Haha," He mocked. "Very funny and scarily true, but no. I'm talking about Camila and Roberto." He jerked his head in their direction. Both of them had an edgy expression. Camila looked utterly annoyed while Rob was furiously scribbling down words. Never have I ever seen a couple this infuriated with each other. It was almost too awkward to even be in the room with them.
"When did they break up?" John tilted his head as he jotted down his name along with a title.
"Oh they haven't yet, but I heard that-"
"Those do not sound like words for a poem you two!" Mrs. Williams shouted singling us out. the class erupted in murmurs and snickers directed at the both of us. One of John's close friends- that I hate more than John- threw an eraser at John's head and made gross noises way too loudly. John reacted in throwing a small novel back at him and turned around like it never happened. Our teacher eventually calmed the class down and continued to fill in a cross word.
I looked at his suggested title, This is How it Goes. The first thing I thought was that it was a silly poem about daily life then he said, "It's a love poem." I noticed an unfamiliar pink to his cheeks and his eyes averting away from mine.
"O-ok." I stuttered. Was it because he looks really adorable when he does that or his aqua-green eyes that- What? No! I am not falling for that manwhore! He is all touchy feely with all of his girl friends and is completely repulsive.
"Hello? Alison class ended." John nervously said as he was suddenly hovering over me. The sheet of paper that was previously empty was now half way full with 12 lines of words in pencil with a side note asking me to finish.
"Oh..." i awkwardly muttered, standing up. We walked fastly through the halls and stopped at our lockers. johns locker was far away from mine but I could see him in this now empty hallway.
Next was study hall in the library. I pulled out a pencil pouch that I specifically use for this study halls or free time. It had ear buds, pencils, pens and a tech deck. Next I quickly tugged a three subject notebook out of my locker that was hollowed out in the middle and full of gushers. Turning around I saw John waiting for me. I shot him a weird look as if asking what he was doing>
"I am not that mean." He protested before we started sprinting to the main floor.
"Yeah ok." I sarcastically spat at him. "I still don't like you John."
"Whatever," He sighed. "I'll just tell him that we stayed back for the poem."
"No!" I shouted. "He will give me another Notice. Say that my locker was stuck or something." I offered. He nodded and slowed down before reaching the door. We walked in and expected Mr. Rodges to stop us in the front of the room. That didn't happen. Multiple girls were crowded around his desk which meant one thing: substitute. John and I sighed in relief then scurried away to different ends of the library.
"Ah Ms. Brytus, late again. Come to my desk." The guy said in a false Australian accent.
"That," I started as strolled to the front of the room. "Is actually not your desk It's-" My comeback stopped short once i saw who was sitting there, in the spinning chair. I checked to see that nobody was around me.
